In the digital age, e-commerce is opening up new development opportunities, helping local products overcome geographical limitations and reach domestic and international consumers. With over 650 OCOP products achieving 3 to 5-star ratings, Thai Nguyen is affirming its position as one of the most dynamic localities in the digital transformation of agriculture .
In just the first 10 months of 2025, the province's total product sales on Shopee reached nearly 1 trillion VND, clearly demonstrating the locality's rapid adaptability and innovative thinking in line with modern commerce trends, where technology, promotion, and culture are paramount.

Expanding the digital market for local agricultural products.
The dynamism of Thai Nguyen's agricultural products in the digital market stems not only from the number of orders but also from a comprehensive and long-term trade promotion strategy. From traditional fairs like "Industry and Trade - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2025" and "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" to international exchange programs with South Korea, the province has continuously expanded promotional opportunities, helping OCOP products reach consumers, investors, and potential partners more easily.
Along with direct promotional activities, e-commerce has been identified by Thai Nguyen as a "strategic direction" in the digital transformation era. The "Ban Viet - Thai Nguyen" store on Shopee, built by Ban Viet Cooperative in collaboration with the province, currently features 94 products and product sets, has organized 125 livestream sessions, and sold 1,140 orders. This is a pioneering model for applying technology to expand markets and enhance the recognition of local products.
Beyond Shopee, the land of the finest tea also leverages TikTok as a "digital marketplace" to promote agricultural products. Programs like "Thai Nguyen OCOP Market 2025" and "Digital Custard Apple and Thai Nguyen Agricultural Products 2025" attract a large audience, creating a vibrant space for interaction between producers and consumers. Each livestream is a storytelling journey, from the production and processing process to the regional culture, helping customers gain a deeper understanding of the quality and value of the products.

Mr. Kieu Thuong Chat, a custard apple orchard owner in Vo Nhai commune (Thai Nguyen province), shared: “We really want to receive training and specific guidance on how to sell our products on e-commerce platforms and social media. Custard apple farmers need support in everything from simple things like creating accounts, uploading images, and describing products to skills in order management, packaging, and transportation to maintain the quality of the fruit when it reaches consumers.”
In addition, Mr. Chất also wants to learn more about secure online payment methods, how to promote products through livestreaming, and how to run advertisements to reach more customers. If he is equipped with this knowledge, selling custard apples will certainly be much easier.
Technology becomes a "lever" to elevate the OCOP brand in Thai Nguyen.
Behind the impressive growth figures lies the coordinated efforts of the government and regulatory agencies. The Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade has collaborated with local authorities to promote and encourage businesses to participate in the e-commerce street, while also organizing training courses on opening online stores, building brand image, and operating on digital platforms. This support has helped small businesses and cooperatives quickly adapt to the trend, gradually developing a modern and professional business mindset.
Besides Shopee, Thai Nguyen is expanding its operations on other platforms such as Lazada, Tiki, and Zalo Shop, while also collaborating with international online trade fairs, specialized exhibitions, and offline booths at many major events. This is a "parallel" strategy that maintains direct connections with customers while strongly developing the online market, aiming for a multi-channel, multi-platform approach to trade promotion.
According to data from Data Science Joint Stock Company, Thai Nguyen's sales on Shopee in the first 10 months of 2025 reached over 997 billion VND. This figure not only demonstrates economic efficiency but also reflects a step forward in development thinking, where technology is seen as a crucial "lever" to enhance the value of local products.
Thai Nguyen is proving that when agricultural products are connected with technology, each OCOP product can reach further, serving the domestic market and conquering international consumers. Sales of nearly 1 trillion VND on Shopee are not only an economic achievement but also proof of the right development path where creativity, identity, and technology blend together to shape Thai Nguyen's "digital brand" on the Vietnamese e-commerce map.
