On June 15, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs (VAWE) held the 5th Executive Committee Conference for the 2021-2026 term. Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong attended the Conference.
The 5th Executive Committee Meeting for the 2021-2026 term evaluated and summarized the activities of the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs in the first 6 months of the year, and deployed tasks for the last 6 months of 2024. In addition, additional members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee were elected; the program for the 10th Anniversary of VAWE (2014-2024) was planned.
According to the report, in the past time, the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs has admitted 1 more collective member and 1 club, bringing the total number of organizational members to 34 Associations in 32 provinces; admitted 287 new members. Many local Associations have been very creative in diversifying the forms of membership such as associate members, honorary members and establishing affiliated clubs according to interests and topics.

The implementation of social responsibility activities continued to be implemented by the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs and achieved outstanding results. In particular, responding to the activities towards Dien Bien of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the Border Guard and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the members of the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of VAWE and the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Women Entrepreneurs (HAWEE) ... presented 22 Great Solidarity houses to Dien Bien, and presented gifts to the Border Guard Stations with a total value of 1.35 billion VND.
Ms. Thai Huong, President of the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs, said that in each stage of the country’s development, female entrepreneurs have demonstrated their mettle, resilience, perseverance and desire to constantly improve. These are valuable qualities that help female entrepreneurs stay steadfast in the face of market fluctuations, thereby constantly creating and innovating.
According to Ms. Thai Huong, the aspiration of each businesswoman is not only to develop herself and her business but also to create a positive impact in the community. Thanks to these values, businesswomen not only create success for themselves but also contribute to building a sustainable society. The Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs is always an ideal gathering place, with initiatives and enthusiasm to move forward together and spread good values.
Conference Delegates
Speaking at the Conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the socio -economic situation faced many difficulties due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the impact of the global economy. These difficulties have directly affected the Association and its members. However, with determined, creative and proactive efforts, the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs has continued to promote its achievements and strengths, truly becoming a solid support for female entrepreneurs. At the same time, it has contributed an important role to the recovery and socio-economic development of the country.
The Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union assessed that in the first 6 months of 2024, the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association has implemented diverse and creative activities with great social impact. In addition, the Association also closely coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Women's Unions of provinces and cities in practical activities such as the "Godmother" program; supporting members and women in economic development; participating in social criticism and people's diplomacy.
In the coming time, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong suggested that the Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs continue to implement activities to raise awareness and responsibility of female entrepreneurs in proactively responding to climate change, resource management, environmental protection; approaching new issues such as green economy, circular economy, responsible production and consumption.
