People reported on November 30 that a flight from Newark Liberty Airport (New Jersey, USA) to Charleston (South Carolina, USA) on November 9 was chaotic when a female passenger loudly yelled at a flight attendant because of the long delay.

According to passengers, the flight was delayed for nearly three hours before takeoff. After all passengers had boarded the plane, they continued to wait on the runway for more than an hour and a half.

The flight crew then announced that the plane was number 30 in the takeoff queue and that it would have to wait another 90 minutes. Upon hearing the news, many people appeared tired but remained orderly.

One woman suddenly stood up, repeatedly cursing and using obscene language towards the flight attendant when asked to stay seated. A passenger on the flight said: “She was very agitated and did not listen to any explanation.”

When the two people sitting next to her were switched seats to reduce the noise, the woman reacted even more violently, even swearing. Worried that the situation would escalate, the flight crew arranged for some large male passengers to sit next to her in case she acted rashly.

Faced with the risk of safety and disruption to the flight schedule, the captain decided to return the plane to the departure gate. When asked to disembark, the woman remained uncooperative, forcing airport staff to intervene and escort her.

Passengers on the flight praised the flight attendants for remaining calm and gentle throughout the incident, helping to avoid a fight.

The video recording the entire chaotic scene on the plane quickly went viral, attracting a large number of viewers and causing much controversy.

Many people say that long delays can easily stress passengers, but the woman's extreme and vulgar reaction is unacceptable.

US aviation authorities say delays can be caused by a variety of factors, including bad weather, technical issues, and air traffic control. In addition, pilots are not allowed to move a plane if a passenger stands up in the cabin, even to use the restroom, for safety reasons. This can lead to longer wait times.

It is not uncommon for passengers to cause trouble on flights. On November 25, passengers on a KLM flight, preparing to take off from Atlanta to Amsterdam (USA), were even moved to another plane by a disruptive male passenger.

Not only did he scream and claim that someone on the plane was carrying a weapon, a passenger named Johannes Van Heertum (32 years old) also suddenly opened the plane's emergency exit, causing the slide to open while the plane was moving on the runway.

After intervening and investigating, the Atlanta Police Department said Van Heertum showed signs of a “mental health crisis.” He was evaluated by medical staff before being charged with endangerment, destruction of property, and obstructing security measures.

The man was then taken to the Clayton County Jail. The incident was also reported to the Atlanta Police Department's Homeland Security Division.

Due to the disturbance caused by the passenger, KLM said the flight was cancelled and all passengers were rescheduled to the next flight. The airline also apologized and reassured those affected.
