Born into a poor family of the Jrai ethnic group, Siu H'Suyn's (born in 2007, residing in Chu A Thai commune, Gia Lai province) childhood was associated with a simple house in a village with many shortages. Life was already difficult, her mother was often sick, had to borrow money everywhere for treatment, making the family even more exhausted.

When she was in 12th grade, Siu H'Suyn's mother passed away, leaving behind an inconsolable pain and an irreplaceable void. Not long after her mother passed away, her father left the village to work far away, and Siu H'Suyn had to depend on her older sister's family in a life of poverty.

The sudden events made Siu H'Suyn think about dropping out of school. Seeing her sister busy preparing meals, saving money to raise her children and support herself, H'Suyn couldn't help but feel heartbroken. That image motivated her to study hard...

Not having the opportunity to take extra classes like her friends, H'Suyn chose to study on her own. She borrowed old books, searched for documents online, and took advantage of every hour to discuss with teachers and friends. Every day after school, she returned to her daily work of looking after her grandchildren, herding cows, and doing housework. Life was lacking in many ways, but she never once allowed herself to think about giving up.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam results, H'Suyn surpassed 407 grade 12 students, excellently achieving 27.5 points (Literature 8.0; History 9.5; Geography 10), becoming the double valedictorian of blocks C00, C03, and the candidate with the highest graduation exam score at Tran Quoc Tuan High School.

Recalling her feelings when she learned that she had achieved high results in the recent exam, Siu H'Suyn said that at that time she was harvesting rice for hire about 30km from home when she received the news. Although she had predicted her score after the exam, she did not think it would be so high, she was very happy and surprised.

With that excellent result, along with the achievement of being an excellent student at the provincial level in History, Siu H'Suyn had the opportunity to enter Quy Nhon University to study Primary Education, the place she had dreamed of.

Sharing about her dream, H'Suyn said: "I grew up in hardship and deprivation, witnessing my siblings and many children in the village not being able to study and having to drop out of school halfway, so I wanted to become a teacher to impart knowledge to the children...".

According to Siu H'Suyn, the results she achieved did not come from innate intelligence but from persistent efforts and relentless perseverance. She said, "Anyone can achieve success if they are truly determined, always try every day, are not afraid of difficulties and most importantly, do not allow themselves to give up halfway."

“I am not the best, but I always try my best. I believe that as long as we persevere, no matter how difficult the situation is, we can still overcome it,” H'Suyn confided.

Sharing the secret to getting a high score in the recent exam, Siu H'Suyn said, "I don't have any special secret. If there is any content in class that I don't understand, I always boldly ask my teachers and friends to grasp the knowledge. In the morning, I focus on learning the lesson thoroughly all day, by reading more reference books or looking up related knowledge online.

Siu H'Truyen (25 years old, Siu H'Suyn's older sister) choked up: "Because of poverty, my brother and I had to drop out of school, so when we heard that H'Suyn got high scores, we were very happy. We are happy that she overcame adversity to reach her dream, but thinking about the road ahead, we can't help but worry. We love her very much, but our poor family doesn't know where to get money to pay for her education."

Ms. Hoang Thi Dieu Loan, Siu H'Suyn's homeroom teacher, said that despite her poor family background, Siu H'Suyn studies very hard and learns lessons quickly. If she doesn't understand something, she asks her teachers right in class to consolidate her knowledge.
