
On the morning of November 25, Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center held a conference to review the Project on Building a model of raising Pearl grouper using HPDE cages at sea, achieving VietGAP certification, associated with product consumption.

The project of raising Pearl grouper using HPĐE cages at sea, achieving VietGAP certification and linking with product consumption, supported by the National Agricultural Extension Center, will be implemented in Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces from 2025. The Hai Phong Agricultural Extension Center is the project manager.

Implementing the project, marine farming households in Cat Hai and Van Don special zones are supported with seeds, materials, and HPĐE cages with a long lifespan of up to 20 - 30 years, with the ability to bend so they can withstand strong winds and waves. This cage system can also withstand the load and impact of sunlight so there are no risks or damage.
Agricultural extension officers have provided technical support and guidance to aquaculture households throughout the farming process.

The results of the first year of project implementation showed that the average fish size of the households was 1.125 kg/fish, the survival rate was 75.8%; productivity was 17 kg/m 3 , output was 10,736 kg, all technical indicators met and exceeded the project target. Aquaculture farmers earned a profit of 635 million VND/630 m 3 of cages, 69.8% higher than households raising fish using traditional methods. The production cost of 1 kg of commercial fish was 170,800 VND, a decrease of 10,900 VND compared to mass farming...
