Speaking to VietNamNet reporters at noon on June 14, a leader of Traffic Police Team No. 1 (Traffic Police Department of Thua Thien- Hue Province Police) said that the unit's officers are coordinating with functional forces to investigate the cause of the traffic accident that occurred in the area.
Specifically, the accident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. the same day at Km 21+350 on National Highway 1A, avoiding Hue City.
Initial information said that at that time, the passenger bus with license plate 73F - 00.012 driven by driver Luu Duc Phuong (born in 1986, in Quang Binh province) was carrying 21 passengers and traveling in the North - South direction.
Upon arriving at the above location, the sleeper bus was suddenly hit head-on by a truck with license plate 37H-03.385 driven by Pham Van Tai (born in 1986).
The accident injured four people on the bus, including three passengers and driver Luu Duc Phuong.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with the Traffic Police to rescue the injured passengers and take the injured to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
