Just a few months after winning the Premier League, Liverpool suddenly fell dramatically, with the latest defeat being a 1-4 defeat to PSV in the Champions League.

This is the 9th defeat of The Kop in the last 12 appearances. A series of unconvincing results has made Liverpool struggle both domestically and in the European arena.

Rumors immediately emerged that Arne Slot could face the risk of losing his job as Liverpool remained in 12th place in the Premier League table, despite spending more than £400 million on player transfers this summer.

However, Liverpool's owner - Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is not too worried and continues to put his trust in the Dutch strategist.

The Athletic also confirmed that the internal discussion of the team was very positive and sympathetic to Slot's situation.

Arne Slot himself also shared: "I feel safe because I receive a lot of support from my superiors.

If you don't do well, it's normal to be questioned. I'm not too worried. The focus is on improving the team, not on the coaching position."

The Dutch coach also received support from Liverpool legends such as Steven Gerrard and Steve McManaman.

Speaking on TNT Sport, former winger McManaman said: "I think it's still too early to talk about sacking coach Slot. What he achieved with Liverpool last season was very encouraging."
