On the afternoon of November 14th, the 5th (special) session of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, 10th term, 2021-2026, proceeded to consider and decide on many important issues, with the focus being on the consolidation of key personnel.
At the session, the provincial People's Council delegates unanimously elected Mr. Luu Van Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to the position of Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, 10th term.
Speaking at the session, Provincial Party Secretary Y Thanh Hà Niê Kđăm urged the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council to fully uphold its sense of responsibility and respect the principle of democratic centralism.
At the meeting, the Provincial People's Council considered and resolved to dismiss Mr. Tran Hong Thai from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Previously, Mr. Thai had been appointed to the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology.
The session also passed a resolution dismissing Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh from his position as a member of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council (due to taking up a new position in Thanh Hoa province).
Mr. Luu Van Trung, 51 years old, originally from Hung Yen province, is currently the Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. In terms of professional qualifications, he holds a Master's degree in Agriculture, is a Land Management Engineer, and has advanced political theory qualifications.
Prior to being elected Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Council, Mr. Luu Van Trung had a long career and held many important positions in both Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces. In 1998, he worked as a specialist at the Land Administration Department of the former Dak Lak province. After Dak Nong province was established, he transferred there and held various positions at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee Office.
During his time working in Dak Nong, he held many leadership positions from the district to the provincial level, such as Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Mil district, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, and Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department.
From October 2020, he held the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee, and from July 2021 to July 2025, he also served as Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
From July 2025, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee (after the merger).
