On November 25, the account "@camolNFT" posted an article on X with the content: "BREAKING NEWS: Mr. Elon Musk acquired Truth Social for 10 billion USD".
The post was accompanied by a screenshot of a post from an account believed to be owned by Mr. Trump. The post in the photo read: "America needs its own free social media platform. A safe haven from hostile foreign forces trying to infiltrate our lives.
I am excited to announce that my close friend and partner, Elon Musk - "Rocket Man" - has acquired Truth Social for $10 billion. Elon can ensure we have a safe and secure internet environment, and MAKE SOCIAL MEDIA GREAT AGAIN!
The post has garnered more than 405,500 views as of this writing.

Through verification, experts from Lead Stories on November 26 confirmed that the information circulating about tech billionaire Musk buying the social network Truth Social for $10 billion is fake.
A screenshot of a post from an account purportedly belonging to Mr. Trump is also fake.
Lead Stories searched for important keywords in the post on the Truth Social platform, but it didn't return any relevant results.
In addition, the account "@camolNFT" also posted a response under the viral post, saying that the screenshot of the post that was supposed to be on Mr. Trump's Truth Social account was fake. This account explained that because he was bored, he posted the post for entertainment purposes.
The user feedback section on X also shows that this is false information.
Finally, if Mr. Trump did indeed sell Truth Social to Mr. Musk, it would be a huge shock and would certainly be reported by many mainstream media outlets. However, searches for the keyword on Google News and Yahoo! News yielded no relevant results.
This further shows that the information being spread is just fabrication and fiction.
