Dong Nai is on the runway accelerating into a new era.

In the context of the strong development of the Southern key economic region and the whole country, Dong Nai has always been identified as a strategic growth pole. During the 2020-2025 term, despite facing many difficulties, under the close leadership and guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, Dong Nai has overcome many bottlenecks and simultaneously created a solid foundation for a new phase of development.

Looking at the impressive economic development figures for 2025 of the province, such as: GRDP growth of 9.63%; GRDP per capita reaching over 150 million VND; budget revenue reaching over 100 trillion VND for the first time; estimated goods exports of 34.6 billion USD; attracting domestic investment of over 173 trillion VND and foreign direct investment of over 3.3 billion USD (exceeding the set targets and continuing to be among the top in the country)... shows the outstanding efforts of the province.

Building a "launching pad" for a new journey.

One of Dong Nai 's biggest achievements during the 2020-2025 term is the strong acceleration in investment and completion of modern and synchronized transportation infrastructure.

Comrade Nguyen Kim Long, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, shared: “During the past term, Dong Nai province has realized its strategic goal of modern transportation infrastructure, considering it both a lever and a ‘flow’ to promote the entire economy, while expanding new development opportunities. The completion of the transportation system is the solution to the problem of rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of the province, and continues to attract high-quality investment in the new phase.”

It can be said that, after half a century since the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, Dong Nai has never witnessed such a rapid and robust scale and pace of infrastructure development as in the 2020-2025 term. A series of large-scale, modern, highly interconnected transportation projects, considered key national projects, are being implemented with lightning speed, overcoming challenges and overcoming obstacles throughout the province. Typical examples include the Long Thanh International Airport project, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway, the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the Phuoc An Seaport, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, the expansion project of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, and the Phuoc An Bridge… all of which have been implemented with a total investment of hundreds of thousands of billions of VND.

Notably, in the very first days of 2026, Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City joined forces to commence construction on several strategically important new bridges: Long Hung Bridge, Cat Lai Bridge, and Phu My 2 Bridge. Simultaneously, they are urgently preparing the initial investment steps for the implementation of two urban railway lines connecting the two localities: a railway connecting Long Thanh Airport to the Thu Thiem urban area (Ho Chi Minh City) and an extension of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien urban railway line (Ho Chi Minh City) to the new administrative center of Dong Nai province and Long Thanh Airport. These projects have the potential to create economic space, break down barriers to inter-regional connectivity, and enhance economic efficiency for the entire Southeast region and the whole country.

Strategic decisions to propel Dong Nai to "take off"

On November 13, 2025, during his first visit to Long Thanh Airport, General Secretary To Lam emphasized key policies to help Dong Nai achieve breakthrough growth. The General Secretary pointed out that Dong Nai needs a "pioneering mechanism" through the application of specific policies on investment, finance, and land, similar to Ho Chi Minh City, to remove "bottlenecks" and unlock resources. The province needs to build a pioneering development model, such as maximizing the advantages of Long Thanh Airport and quickly establishing a free trade zone connected to Cai Mep Port. The province needs to leverage resources and accelerate infrastructure development with a spirit of urgent and decisive action.

Accelerate to seize opportunities.

According to Comrade Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in the new term, Dong Nai province will continue to unleash and develop its existing potential and advantages, and further enhance the spirit and responsibility of officials and Party members from the provincial to the commune level to improve the efficiency of serving the people and businesses. Building on the strategic transportation infrastructure that has been clearly defined in the new term, the province will continue to improve the transportation network, not only to better connect within the province but also to ensure inter-regional connectivity.

With increasingly improved transportation infrastructure, the province will continue to accelerate the completion of infrastructure for new-generation industrial parks located near Long Thanh Airport to quickly attract more high-tech, high-value-added investment projects, creating more high-quality jobs.

Comrade Le Truong Son, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: Training strategic human resources is a fundamental solution for Dong Nai to seize new development opportunities and create synergy with the already invested infrastructure. The province will continue to cooperate with reputable academies and universities to implement training programs, especially to improve administrative management capacity and digital transformation capacity for cadres, civil servants, and public employees. On the other hand, the Provincial People's Committee will pay attention to investing in and creating conditions for universities and colleges in the province to improve the quality of human resources in a way that increasingly meets the requirements of businesses, especially high-tech businesses that have invested, are investing, and will invest in Dong Nai.

Ms. Le Nu Thuy Duong, Vice Chairwoman and General Director of KN Holdings Group, shared: “We are very excited that the province has created favorable conditions for us to invest in two new industrial parks east of Long Thanh Airport. After the recent initial phase, we will be determined to accelerate infrastructure investment to attract investors, create more revenue for the province and jobs for the people.”

Meanwhile, Le Ngoc Son, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), said: Petrovietnam has just inaugurated its first two gas-fired power plants in Dong Nai province, Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4, with an investment of over 1.5 billion USD. The Group is researching and proposing to the Government to allow the continued development of more new, larger, and more modern gas-fired power plants, contributing to meeting the growing energy needs of Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Quang Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Loc Thanh Commune.

Loc Thanh commune has officially commenced construction of a boarding school building, dining hall, kitchen, and other auxiliary facilities for Loc Thien Primary and Secondary School, with a total investment of nearly 11 billion VND. This is vivid evidence showing that the Politburo's Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW, dated July 18, 2025, on the policy of investing in school construction for border communes has been quickly concretized by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee through practical actions. The decisive leadership from the province has transformed the humane policy of the Central Government into reality, definitively solving the problem of a suitable learning environment for students in border communes.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, residing in Phuoc An commune.

We have complete faith in the vision and deep concern of the Party and the State for the strong transformation of Dong Nai, especially the Phuoc An area which is developing a seaport. Our greatest expectation is that breakthrough infrastructure projects will soon create quality jobs, help farmers transition their livelihoods, and sustainably increase their income. We look forward to a more prosperous and modern future, where this development brings a dignified life for future generations.
