Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee.

On the morning of November 14, at the 5th session of the 16th Lao Cai Provincial People's Council, delegates elected Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh to hold the position of Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

With 100% of the votes in agreement, the People's Council of Lao Cai province elected Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to become the head of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province for the 2021-2026 term.

Before being elected as Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh was Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee; held many leadership positions in the banking sector and central agencies, as well as serving as Chairman of the People's Committee of the former Yen Bai province.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, born on August 12, 1975, hometown in Nhan Chinh ward (Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi), Kinh ethnic group; joined the Party on November 21, 2000. Master's degree in economics, senior political theory.

From October 1996 to February 1999, he worked at the Foreign Economic Affairs and Foreign Exchange Management Department of Agribank; then held the positions of specialist, deputy head of department, deputy head of Legal Secretariat and deputy director of Agribank Lang Ha Branch.

During the period 2008-2012, he held the position of Party Secretary and Director of Agribank My Dinh; from 2012-2015, he was Deputy General Director of Agribank.

From 2015 to August 2020, he was a member of the Party Committee of the Central Bank; Director of the Department of Finance and Accounting, State Bank of Vietnam.

From September 2020 to December 2021, he held the position of Director of the Department of Credit for Economic Sectors, State Bank of Vietnam.

From December 2021 to November 2024, he was Deputy Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, Standing Committee of the National Assembly; Deputy Chief of Office of the National Assembly Party Delegation.

On November 29, 2024, he was elected Deputy Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Party Committee; in December 2024, he was elected by the Provincial People's Council to hold the position of Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

In July 2025, after the merger of Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces, he was transferred and assigned to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, term 2020-2025.
