Mr. Nguyen Van Thang holds the position of Chairman of Hanoi City Labor Federation

On November 14, the Hanoi City Labor Confederation (HLC) held a Conference to announce the Decision to appoint and supplement the Executive Committee Member, Standing Committee Member and the position of Chairman of the City Labor Confederation for the 2023-2028 term for Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - City Party Committee Member, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Chuong My Ward. This is an important event to perfect the leadership personnel of the Capital Labor Union organization, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new period.

Attending the Conference were comrades: Ngo Duy Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Bui Huyen Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City; Le Dinh Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Standing Vice President of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor; Vice Presidents of the Hanoi City Confederation of Labor: Nguyen Huy Khanh, Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy.

Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Bui Huyen Mai and Standing members of the Hanoi Confederation of Labor presented flowers to congratulate comrade Nguyen Van Thang.

At the Conference, Ms. Phi Thu Huong - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor announced Decision No. 391/QD-TLĐ dated November 10, 2025 of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on appointing Mr. Nguyen Van Thang to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation for the 2023 - 2028 term.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the working process and outstanding contributions of comrade Nguyen Van Thang - a cadre who grew up from the grassroots, received thorough training, held many important positions and always completed his tasks excellently.

Emphasizing that taking on the position of Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Confederation is an honor, but also a huge responsibility, requiring courage, determination and a spirit of constant innovation, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu expressed his belief that with his rich practical experience, innovative thinking and in-depth working style, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang will quickly integrate, get to work right away, promote a sense of responsibility to lead the Capital Labor Union to successfully complete its functions and tasks, and at the same time create a new mark in union activities.

In the immediate future, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu requested Mr. Nguyen Van Thang and the leadership of the City Labor Federation to focus on directing the successful organization of the Grassroots Trade Union Congress and effectively implementing activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2026 for union members and workers.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang expressed his emotion and honor at being entrusted by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Hanoi Party Committee and the City's Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee with the responsibility of leading the Capital Trade Union organization.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang affirmed that this is not only an opportunity to contribute but also a heavy responsibility before the Party, the Trade Union organization and especially before hundreds of thousands of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers in Hanoi city.

Recognizing that the current context is posing many new requirements for the Trade Union organization, Mr. Nguyen Van Thang affirmed that he will always uphold the spirit of responsibility, constantly learn, practice, promote the tradition of solidarity, innovation and creativity of the Hanoi Trade Union; at the same time, promote the collective role in leadership and management of work.
