At the event, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), shared insightful perspectives on the role of family and happiness in building a sustainable social foundation.
In his speech, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the happiness of each family is the foundation for a happy society and a sustainably developed nation. According to the Director, the "Happiness Flight" is not simply a symbolic flight, but a connecting space where the enduring values that form the spiritual strength of the Vietnamese people are naturally spread.
Beyond viewing the event from a policy perspective, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan also shared his personal feelings about directly accompanying 19 couples representing exemplary Vietnamese families. According to him, these families embody loyalty, love, and perseverance – core values that contribute to building the foundation of a happy society. The Director General stated that the "Happy Flight" is a meaningful continuation of the Vietnam Happy Fest 2025, further affirming the overarching message: family happiness is the foundation for the sustainable development of the country.

Sharing about the program's symbolic journey, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan said the trip began at Ho Guom Lake – the heart of Hanoi , a place that embodies the depth of history and the indomitable spirit of the nation. Before departure, the couples, along with the organizers, performed a ritual of offering incense, expressing gratitude to their ancestors and conveying their wishes for a peaceful country, a prosperous family, and a happy society.
“As the plane lifted off the runway, taking us into the skies of our homeland, I believe each of us felt very clearly: we were not just traveling through space, but embarking together on a journey of emotions, faith, and hope,” Mr. Pham Anh Tuan shared. According to him, from the height of the flight, the image of the country appeared peaceful with its rivers, fields, and small houses, reminding us that happiness begins in simple homes, where people know how to love, share, and hold hands through the years.
Before those messages spread through the skies, the atmosphere of the "Happy Flight" was prepared and created right from the ground. At the check-in area, passengers on flight VN1553 were greeted by a FID screen displaying the words "Happy Flight," creating a sense of excitement and uniqueness for their journey at the beginning of the year. In the Lotus Lounge, 19 couples participating in the flight were presented with mascots by Vietnam Airlines as a warm welcome, contributing to a warmer and more emotional atmosphere in the waiting area.

Happiness on a flight isn't just expressed through symbolic rituals; it's also present in everyday moments of sharing. The delicate floral ribbons tied around a spouse's wrist symbolize companionship and best wishes for the long journey ahead. For many couples, this isn't just a New Year's gift, but a memorable spiritual milestone in their journey of building a family.
Through these simple yet symbolic activities, the message of family, connection, and happiness was naturally spread, in line with the program's spirit. In his speech, Director Pham Anh Tuan also thanked Vietnam Airlines for their partnership and for creating a flight imbued with humanistic values. According to him, the fact that a national airline joined hands in spreading the message of family and happiness contributed to highlighting Vietnam's image as a humane, peace-loving, and compassionate destination.
In addition, the Director General stated that the "Happy Flight" series of activities will not stop in the sky, but will continue with a Happy Gala Night in Nha Trang and a tree-planting ceremony at the Ponagar Tower. According to him, the tree-planting ceremony symbolizes sustainability, representing the positive values that are sown and spread from the present to the future.

“The flight will eventually land, but I believe that the emotions of today will remain in everyone's hearts for a long time,” Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized. The Director expressed his hope that each experience on the flight would become a gentle highlight in the journey of the Happy Vietnam Day, contributing to nurturing a happy society from happy families.
According to the Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information, from a solid family foundation, positive values will continue to spread to the community and further to international friends, thereby contributing to building the image of a modern, humane, and distinctive Vietnam in the era of deep integration.
With its overarching message of love, fidelity, and faith in the future, "The Happy Flight" is expected to become a beautiful milestone in the series of activities promoting the image of a happy Vietnam, while inspiring and spreading positive values in every Vietnamese family in the new year 2026.
