That was part of the latest statement from former US President Donald Trump after the world was shocked by the news of his attempted assassination during the election campaign.
"Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as only God can prevent the unthinkable from happening. We will NOT be AFRAID but instead remain strong in faith and defiance in the face of evil. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those injured and hold in our hearts the memory of those who were so horribly murdered. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we come together and show who we truly are as Americans, remaining strong and resolute and not allowing evil to triumph. I truly love our Country and love all of you, and look forward to speaking to our great Nation this week from Wisconsin," Trump wrote on social media.

Before that, the whole of America and the world were shocked when Mr. Trump was shot right at the election campaign. The image of Mr. Trump with blood on his face and ears was shared rapidly. He was shot in the right ear and luckily was safe. The 20-year-old suspect was shot by security forces at the scene but there were still other deaths in the attack. Mr. Trump was escorted by the Secret Service away from the scene of the shooting and later confirmed that he was shot.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation considered this an attempted assassination of Mr. Trump and quickly coordinated with relevant agencies to investigate. President Joe Biden and a series of politicians in the US as well as around the world quickly spoke out about the shocking incident. The two most important messages were to wish Mr. Trump a speedy recovery and condemn acts of violence, specifically political violence. Regarding the 2024 US presidential election process, a senior Republican official confirmed to CNN that the party's national convention will still open on July 15 in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) as planned. At this event, Mr. Trump is expected to officially be awarded the Republican Party's nomination ticket to participate in the presidential election on November 5. In an email to supporters after the shooting, Mr. Trump briefly stated: "This is a message from Donald Trump. I will never surrender."
