Mr Zelenskyy has called on Western leaders to back Ukraine's "victory plan" to end the conflict by February 2022.

"This war cannot be solved by negotiations. We need action," Mr. Zelenskyy stressed and thanked the countries that supported Ukraine.
The situation in Ukraine is currently uncertain, especially with the upcoming US presidential election. If former President Donald Trump is re-elected, this could affect Washington's policy towards Ukraine, which is heavily dependent on US military and financial support. Currently, Russia controls about 20% of Ukraine's territory.
Mr Zelenskyy said if his plan received support from the West, it would have a major impact on Moscow, possibly forcing Russia to end the war diplomatically. His plan has not been detailed, but he said it would lead to a peace summit that Ukraine plans to host later this year.
Meanwhile, Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, objected to Zelenskyy's appearance at the council, saying that Western countries were deliberately stirring up tensions over the Ukraine issue.
The meeting also saw tensions between representatives of China and the United States. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken criticized China for supplying technology and goods to Russia, while the Chinese representative rejected the accusations, saying it was irresponsible to blame Beijing.
