Viet Cuong Vermicelli Cooperative produces clean vermicelli, packaging and labeling products that meet OCOP standards. |
From small-scale production facilities, many cooperatives and agricultural enterprises in the province are gradually professionalizing. The case of Viet Cuong Vermicelli Cooperative (Dong Hy commune) is a clear example. Previously, it faced many limitations in terms of facilities and markets, but when participating in the OCOP program, the unit was supported with traceability stamps, a packaging identification system and instructions for completing food safety records. This support helps save costs, shorten the production process and motivates investment in new production lines.
Mr. Nguyen Van Ba, Director of the Cooperative, said: Support in terms of labels and packaging helps us improve our products and expand our markets. Currently, the Cooperative not only supplies domestically but is also aiming for export.
Along with vermicelli, tea continues to be a product that brings great economic value to the locality. When management quality is improved and informal costs are reduced, tea processing enterprises have more advantages in expanding the market, especially for export. Cooperatives and tea enterprises are supported in registering trademarks, tracing origins, connecting to e-commerce and improving quality standards.
Ms. Dao Thanh Hao, Director of Hao Dat Tea Cooperative (Tan Cuong Commune), shared: Thanks to the support of the management agency and the OCOP program, tea products are more competitive in the domestic market and on online platforms. This helps us confidently expand our brand.

The province currently has more than 560 OCOP products, including 10 5-star products, 113 4-star products and 438 3-star products, from 323 participating entities. OCOP is not only a quality assessment system but also paves the way for agricultural products to access high-end markets, from supermarkets to e-commerce platforms.
According to the latest PCI report, Thai Nguyen is among the provinces with good governance quality, information transparency, quick administrative procedures, convenient land access and reduced informal costs. These improvements have a direct impact on agricultural enterprises, helping them save time, reduce costs and boldly invest in upgrading production processes.
Ms. Vu Thi Thu Huong, Vice President of the Provincial Cooperative Union, commented: Cooperatives and businesses now have easier access to support resources, from trademark registration, origin tracing to market connection. This contributes to increasing the value of Thai Nguyen agricultural products and creating opportunities to expand international markets.
Improving PCI not only brings administrative benefits but also promotes modern production and management thinking. Cooperatives and enterprises focus on applying technology, increasing productivity, meeting food safety standards and building brands. This change opens up opportunities for cooperation with international partners in the context of increasingly deep integration.
The changes from the management apparatus to each OCOP product show that PCI is no longer an administrative measure but has become a driving force to help Thai Nguyen agricultural products transform strongly. Maintaining and improving PCI will create a foundation for the locality to maximize its agricultural potential, raise its position in the national agricultural value chain and go further in international integration.
