An important highlight of the Factory is its orientation towards environmental protection and sustainable development, in line with the PepsiCo Positive (pep+) strategy - the Group's comprehensive transformation program.
The factory is designed with renewable energy solutions such as rooftop solar power systems and biomass systems using agricultural by-products to generate energy. These solutions are expected to contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions, accompanying Vietnam's roadmap to implementing its Net Zero commitment.
When officially put into operation, PepsiCo Ninh Binh Food Factory will create more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs in the fields of production, packaging, and logistics, while supporting community development and expanding local raw material areas.
“We appreciate PepsiCo’s strong commitment and social responsibility to the community and environment in Ninh Binh. The construction and operation of PepsiCo Ninh Binh Food Factory not only promotes economic growth and creates jobs for local people, but is also an important step forward in improving product quality and applying advanced, sustainable technology,” said Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People’s Committee.
Meanwhile, according to Ms. Anne Tse, CEO of PepsiCo Foods Asia-Pacific region, this investment reflects PepsiCo Group's confidence in Vietnam as a key growth market in Asia-Pacific.
“The new factory will complement the existing network, opening up many growth opportunities, strengthening cooperation with local farmers and creating more jobs for the community. The production lines are designed to meet the changing needs of consumers, while contributing to Vietnam’s economic development and sustainability goals,” Ms. Anne Tse emphasized.
Mr. Marc E. Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, affirmed: "PepsiCo's $90 million investment in the new facility in Ninh Binh clearly demonstrates the strong belief of US businesses in Vietnam's economic future."
During more than three decades of accompanying Vietnam, one of PepsiCo's biggest milestones is building a sustainable potato value chain using high technology.
Through the public-private partnership model within the framework of the Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam (PSAV) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, PepsiCo has introduced to Vietnam exclusive potato varieties, modern farming processes and a long-term commitment to purchase. Since 2023, Vietnamese potatoes in PepsiCo's chain have been exported to Thailand, paving the way for Vietnamese agricultural products to affirm their position in the region.
