The new General Director of PVN, Le Manh Cuong, was born on February 18, 1974, in the former Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city. He graduated from the Vietnam Maritime University and the University of Transport and Communications in Ho Chi Minh City.
From June 1995 to April 2000, Mr. Cuong worked at PTSC Oil and Gas Service Vessel Enterprise.
In March 2004, Mr. Cuong started working at the Petroleum Technical Services Company (PTSC), later the Vietnam Petroleum Technical Services Corporation - a member unit of PVN.
At PTSC, the new General Director of PVN held various positions such as Deputy Head of the Commercial Department, Deputy Head in charge of the Production Planning Department, Deputy Head in charge of the Business Development and Project Management Department, Head of the Business Development and Project Management Department, and Head of the Business Development and Project Management Board throughout 2009.
Since August 2009, Mr. Cuong has been appointed as Deputy General Director of PTSC.
Mr. Cuong held senior leadership positions at PTSC's member companies such as: VOFT Company (Malaysia), PTSC SEA (Singapore), PTSC AP (Singapore), Rong Doi MV 12 Company (Singapore), MVOT (Malaysia)...
By May 2018, Mr. Le Manh Cuong became the General Director of PTSC.
From September 2024 to May 17, 2026, Mr. Le Manh Cuong was appointed as Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Corporation ( Petrovietnam ).
To date, the new General Director of PVN has approximately 30 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry.
Previously, on April 24, 2026, the leadership and key officials of Petrovietnam nominated Mr. Le Manh Cuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy General Director of the corporation, for consideration by competent authorities to fill the position of Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Petrovietnam for the 2026-2031 term, replacing Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVN and concurrently General Director of PVN.
