Petrovietnam and Thanh Hoa Province: Comprehensive cooperation to promote industrial and energy development.

With a spirit of proactive and responsible cooperation, the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Corporation (Petrovietnam) and Thanh Hoa province have signed a cooperation agreement to leverage potential and advantages for the development of industrial and energy infrastructure and promote investment in the province.

The Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Petrovietnam recently held a working session to discuss the cooperation between the two sides over the past period and signed a cooperation agreement for the new phase. Speaking at the meeting, Central Committee member and Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Doan Anh emphasized that Petrovietnam and its member units have made important, practical, and responsible contributions to the province's overall growth. Specifically, the Group and its member units have contributed nearly 50% of the total budget revenue in the province, and the Group's investment projects in the province are all large-scale, efficient projects that provide employment for nearly 2,500 workers.

Petrovietnam's activities extend beyond investment in production and business; it also demonstrates a spirit of responsibility towards the local community through various social welfare activities such as building new rural areas, poverty reduction, promoting education, eliminating temporary housing, and contributing to disaster relief efforts. The Group's support programs have directly brought material and spiritual value to poor households and families receiving preferential treatment, contributing to strengthening the people's trust, spreading the spirit of "business for the community," and accompanying localities in achieving sustainable development goals.

On behalf of the Group's leadership, Deputy General Director of Petrovietnam Le Manh Cuong informed that Petrovietnam currently has 12 affiliated units carrying out activities in various fields from oil and gas processing; oil and gas technical services, construction; petroleum trading; fertilizer trading; banking, insurance; investment... in Thanh Hoa .

Based on the cooperation agreement signed in 2008, the production and business activities of Petrovietnam units in Thanh Hoa province have achieved many positive results, with total revenue exceeding 580 trillion VND and contributions to the state budget exceeding 73 trillion VND. The factories, projects, and works have made significant contributions to the industrialization and modernization of the province.

In addition, Petrovietnam focuses on training, attracting, and developing a team of domestic and international experts, forming a high-quality workforce of nearly 2,500 employees currently working at its factories and facilities in the area.

With a sense of responsibility and a culture of "compassion," Petrovietnam and its member units regularly implement many social welfare activities, demonstrating their responsibility to the community and working alongside the authorities at all levels in Thanh Hoa province to care for ethnic minorities in the province. Since 2020 alone, Petrovietnam and its member units have implemented many meaningful social welfare programs and activities, achieving significant results in various fields with a total value of nearly 340 billion VND, including: 96 solidarity houses, 17 educational /school projects, 13 medical/hospital projects, and 9 other social welfare projects/programs...

Forming a complete value chain and effectively exploiting the projects.

Leveraging its position as a leading state-owned enterprise in Vietnam, Petrovietnam and its member units will research and implement investment projects in Thanh Hoa province, focusing on major projects and investment opportunities in the fields of oil and gas, gas industry, and oil and gas services. In particular, Petrovietnam aims to research, survey, and develop investment projects for several important items and portfolios, such as the Petrovietnam Eco-Energy Industrial Center in North Central Vietnam, the development of industrial and energy infrastructure, and other investment opportunities.

The leaders of Thanh Hoa province unanimously agreed and committed to supporting Petrovietnam's investment orientations in the coming period, especially projects in the industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors. In particular, the provincial leaders pledged to accompany, support, and create favorable conditions for the Group and its member units to successfully implement and carry out investment projects.

On behalf of the Group's leadership, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam, Le Ngoc Son, expressed gratitude for the companionship, support, and favorable conditions provided by the leaders, officials, and people of Thanh Hoa province over the past period. He also shared that Petrovietnam is striving to achieve its goal of becoming one of the world's top 500 corporations, continuing to play a key role in the national industrial and energy development strategy. To realize this goal, the Group will focus on expanding investment and developing key sectors; in which, Thanh Hoa holds a particularly important position, being both a focal point in the national industrial and energy development strategy and a region where Petrovietnam has had an early, continuous, and effective presence for many years.

With its many potentials and existing advantages, cooperation between Petrovietnam and Thanh Hoa province offers many favorable conditions for developing industrial centers in energy, petrochemicals, chemicals, technical services, and logistics, thereby forming a complete value chain and effectively utilizing existing projects and facilities.

Petrovietnam leaders believe that the cooperative relationship between the two sides will become a model of cooperation between localities and enterprises in the new development phase of the country. The signing of the cooperation agreement will open a new phase of development, linked to the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Resolution of the 20th Congress of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, the Resolution of the 4th Congress of the Petrovietnam Group Party Committee, and Petrovietnam's development strategy for the coming period.
