The US Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam and rapper Suboi released the MV "Never Before"

The U.S. Mission to Vietnam, in collaboration with rapper Suboi, has released “Never Before,” a newly composed music video (MV) marking the 30th anniversary of U.S.-Vietnam relations. Part of a yearlong commemoration, the MV offers a fresh, youth-focused look at a diplomatic milestone that has shaped the course of both countries.

“Never Before” revisits important milestones in U.S.-Vietnam relations, while highlighting the younger generation as the most vivid evidence of today’s partnership. Through Suboi’s signature rap voice and contemporary visual style, the music video addresses youth, honoring their imagination, aspirations, and global vision, while framing the celebration as a journey fueled by the creativity and ambition of young people themselves.

By charting the past three decades, the MV represents the progress the two countries have made and the shared promise for the future, serving as both a tribute to the enduring partnership and an invitation to continue building on the next stage through innovation, connection and cultural exchange.

The artistic direction of “Never Before” combines modern rap beats with touches of traditional Vietnamese instruments, creating a style that is both contemporary and imbued with identity. This approach brings warmth to a subject that is often presented in a formal manner, allowing the energy of hip-hop to blend with the elegance and pride of Vietnamese culture.
