Strive to basically complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households by the end of 2025.
(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of April 13, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a launching ceremony for the emulation movement “Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses” nationwide. Comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front chaired the event. Attending the event were Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council.

Attending the launching ceremony at the City Convention Center were comrades: Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City; Cao Xuan Lien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.

Speaking at the launch of the emulation movement, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: Vietnam has become a model in hunger eradication and poverty reduction; soon completed the millennium development goals of the country, restored and healed the wounds of war; always cared and had many policies for the poor, vulnerable groups, socio-economic development in difficult areas, remote areas, border areas, islands, and ethnic minority areas, which are considered by the international community as bright spots in hunger eradication and poverty reduction. In recent times, many localities have had creative ways to mobilize resources from the state and people to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households.
The Prime Minister acknowledged and expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ethnic Committees of localities and many ministries, branches and enterprises that have mobilized organizations and people from all walks of life to support the construction of Great Unity houses and the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households across the country. The Prime Minister believes that the movement of the whole country joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, with its profound and noble humanitarian meaning, will receive the active support of organizations, individuals, the whole society and enterprises in the spirit of the whole people, comprehensiveness, joining hands and unanimity for the poor. Strive to basically complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change nationwide by the end of 2025, practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and welcoming the 14th National Congress of the Party.

At the launching ceremony, comrade Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, called on businesses, agencies, organizations, collectives, individuals, people of all walks of life, and overseas Vietnamese to join hands and contribute to "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in 2025.
At the launching ceremony, representatives of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front leaders received support from businesses and organizations for the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide; presented support funds from the Central "For the Poor" Fund to 05 Northwestern provinces; and presented houses to 100 households in Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province.
