Launching the Bao Son Science and Technology Award 2026

The awards will be given in five fields: Natural Sciences; Social Sciences and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Medical Sciences; and Agricultural Sciences. Each field will award one outstanding work with a prize of approximately $140,000 USD.

On the morning of May 9th, in Hanoi, the Bao Son Science and Technology Award 2026 was officially launched, aiming to seek and honor outstanding scientific works with high practical value, effectively applied, and making significant contributions to the cause of national construction and defense. The theme for this year's award is: "Vietnamese Intelligence - Breakthrough for a Sustainable Future".

The Bao Son Science and Technology Award 2026 reflects the aspiration to accompany intellectuals, scientists, researchers, artists, and creative workers nationwide in the journey of creating knowledge, promoting innovation, and spreading humanistic values ​​for the community.

Over the years, the award has contributed to recognizing, spreading, and encouraging the enduring contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists, researchers, and artists.

In 2026, the Bao Son Science and Technology Award will be presented in five fields: Natural Sciences; Social Sciences and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Medical Sciences; and Agricultural Sciences. Each field will award one outstanding project with a prize of approximately US$140,000.

In addition, the Bao Son Education and Training Support Fund is committed to providing development funding to help the award-winning projects continue to expand their applications, improve their quality, and strive towards international standards.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Chairman of Bao Son Award Fund Joint Stock Company, said that the goal of the award is to promote intellectual capacity to create products that serve society, for the benefit of the people and the community. The Bao Son Science and Technology Award not only seeks outstanding works but also aims to recognize scientists who have not yet received the recognition they deserve, thereby contributing to raising the level of scientific knowledge in Vietnam.

Professor Mai Trong Nhuan, former Director of Hanoi National University and Chairman of the Bao Son Science and Technology Award Council, stated that to ensure the quality and prestige of the award, the selection council set many strict criteria for participating projects. These include projects that are groundbreaking, bringing about new understanding and approaches in science and technology, and have been effectively applied in practice for at least three years. In addition, the projects need to have a wide-ranging impact, contributing to promoting digital transformation, green transformation, and solving key problems in practical development...

The application period for the Bao Son Science and Technology Award 2026 begins on May 10th and ends on December 30th, 2026. The evaluation and judging period will be from January 5th to April 15th, 2027.
