Previously, the NPA multi-tasking team (part of the Norwegian People's Aid in Vietnam) received information from residents of A Luoi 1 commune about the discovery of a bomb during road construction for melaleuca cultivation.
Accordingly, the bomb was discovered at a depth of about 1.2 meters underground in a 2-hectare mangrove forest that had been planted for over 5 years and was about to enter the harvesting phase.
Upon receiving the bomb, the NPA Multi-Task Force identified it as an MK82 bomb. Inspection revealed that the bomb's fuse was broken and it lacked a tail fuse, ensuring it was safe to transport.
The bomb was then moved to the NPA's centralized demolition site in Trung Thanh village, Phong Dinh ward, for storage and planning for its destruction.
