On the afternoon of January 16, 2026, the Market Management Department, in coordination with the Tan Phu Ward Police ( Ho Chi Minh City), conducted an inspection of a storage and trading facility belonging to Zhuo Man Import-Export Trading Co., Ltd., located at 727 Au Co Street, Tan Phu Ward.
During the inspection, the inspection team discovered 3,230 cases of Pearl River beer in the warehouse, packaged in 330 ml cans, 24 cans per case. All the goods had labels in a foreign language, lacked Vietnamese labels, and did not indicate the origin of the goods; the production date and expiration date on the packaging were unclear. The products were labeled with a price of 215,000 VND per case, bringing the total value of the goods at the listed price to 694,450,000 VND.

The entire consignment of goods lacked Vietnamese labels, and their origin and source could not be determined, with a value of nearly 700 million VND.
Working with the inspection team, Ms. Luu Que Binh, authorized representative of Zhuo Man Import-Export Trading Co., Ltd., stated that the beer in question was consigned by Vietnam Supply Chain Development Co., Ltd. under a warehousing and logistics contract, with the goods imported by Minh Hang Import-Export Business Co., Ltd. However, because the goods lacked the required Vietnamese-language supplementary labels and did not display the importer's information, there was no basis to accurately determine the legal owner of the shipment.

Based on the provisions of Clause 20, Article 2 of the 2010 Food Safety Law, the inspection team unanimously determined that the aforementioned beer is food. Furthermore, based on Clause 13, Article 3 of Government Decree No. 98/2020/ND-CP, the entire consignment is determined to be goods of unknown origin due to the lack of sufficient legal basis to prove its legitimate origin when circulating in the market.

The inspection team seized all the infringing goods and sealed the evidence to facilitate verification and processing in accordance with regulations.
The inspection team proceeded to draw up a report temporarily seizing all the infringing goods, sealing the evidence to facilitate verification and processing in accordance with the law. Currently, all the seized goods have been transferred to the warehouse of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development at 225 Ma Lo Street, Binh Tri Dong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City for safekeeping pending further action.
