In recent years, promoting the central role of the great national unity bloc, the Fatherland Front (VFF) at all levels in the province has always identified the work of caring for the poor and people in difficult circumstances as a regular political task. With the spirit of solidarity and mutual love in the community, many meaningful and humane activities have been deployed, clearly affirming the role of the VFF in ensuring social security and sustainable poverty reduction.

In Dong Cuong commune, in the period of 2024 - 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has effectively chaired the implementation of social security activities, especially the mobilization of the "For the Poor" Fund.
The commune Fatherland Front has mobilized 166 million VND for the commune's "For the Poor" Fund; from this fund, it has supported the construction of 4 new houses and the repair of 3 houses for poor households. The commune Fatherland Front has also proactively received, connected, and mobilized businesses and philanthropists to support the construction of 11 new houses for disadvantaged households.
In addition, it has supported production, supported sudden risks and given gifts to poor and near-poor households with a total value of over 30 million VND. During the Lunar New Year, the Commune Fatherland Front launched and presented over 500 gifts worth 150 million VND, distributed over 19 tons of rice to households affected by natural disasters and crop failures, ensuring "no one is left behind" in the most difficult times.

Taking care of the poor, the Fatherland Front of Yen Bai ward has also implemented social security programs, proactively reviewed and grasped information about poor and disadvantaged households to promptly provide support such as mobilizing the "For the Poor" Fund, giving gifts, helping with working days...

Poor households in Phuc Son commune, Nghia Lo town, former Yen Bai province, now Cau Thia ward, Lao Cai province, were supported with water tanks for household use.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Trang - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Bai Ward said: “In the period of 2024 - 2025, the Fatherland Front of the ward has mobilized over 380 million VND for the Fund "For the Poor". From this fund, over 300 million VND has been supported for practical activities such as building "Great Unity Houses", giving gifts to poor households and policy households on Tet holiday, supporting disadvantaged students and supporting the development of livelihood models for poor households. In addition, the Fatherland Front of the ward also actively mobilizes support for the program "Tet for the Poor", mobilizing over 300 million VND annually from cadres, party members and people to take care of Tet for poor households".
In recent times, the movement "Lao Cai joins hands for the poor - leaving no one behind" has been effectively implemented with programs to support housing, livelihoods and social security.
In the period of 2024 - 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province mobilized support for the "For the Poor" Fund and the social security program with over 349 billion VND, the funds were used to support the elimination of temporary houses, dilapidated houses, solidarity houses, support students' learning and production development models; organize activities to visit and care for the lives of union members, workers, policy families, and households in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Lunar New Year; participate in the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Tet Vi Nguoi Nguoi Nguoi", "Border Spring Warms the Hearts of Villagers" organized by agencies and units.

In particular, in the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" according to Decision No. 539/QD-TTg dated June 19, 2024 of the Prime Minister, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations in the province have propagated and mobilized union members, association members and people to actively respond to the movement in the spirit of "whoever has something to contribute, whoever has merit contributes, whoever has property contributes", creating socialized resources, reducing the burden on the budget, saving costs and improving the quality of works.
As a result, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province mobilized to renovate and repair 3,410 "Great Unity Houses", "Farmer's Affection", "Love Shelters", "Red Scarf Houses", "Trade Union Shelters", "Humanitarian Houses"... worth over 130.63 billion VND, contributing to the whole province to build and repair 12,915 houses, reaching 100% of the plan, completed 77 days ahead of schedule (as of August 31, 2025), with total mobilized resources reaching over 1,458 billion VND.

Over 800 people participated in the support, clearly demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, and mutual assistance. The Fatherland Front of the commune connected with businesses, mobilized support of over 20 tons of cement, more than 20,000 bricks to help disadvantaged households meet the conditions for favorable construction... The Fatherland Front of the commune has deployed supervision from the approval stage to the construction process, acceptance, and handover of funds; ensuring the right subjects and compliance with policy regulations".

Many poor households in localities are supported with livelihood models by socio-political organizations.
Along with that, to arouse the internal strength of the poor in the poverty reduction work, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels coordinate to propagate and mobilize union members, association members and people to actively participate in labor production, economic development programs and projects, create products with high economic value; coordinate to support union members and association members to access capital sources from banks and from association and organization funds; receive seedlings, livestock, vocational training... to create livelihoods for poor households to escape poverty.
The activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels in caring for the poor not only have material value but also have profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the tradition of "helping each other" and the spirit of great national solidarity. Through specific and practical actions, the Fatherland Front has become a solid bridge between the Party, the government and the people, mobilizing the strength of the community to join hands in building a humane society where no one is left behind.
