
Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the Ministry of National Defense chaired the Conference.
Presenting the Summary Report on the work for the advancement of women and gender equality in the Army for the period 2021-2025, Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Head of the Army Women's Committee, emphasized that the work for the advancement of women and gender equality in the Army has achieved many outstanding and comprehensive results in all fields, contributing significantly to improving the material and spiritual life, promoting the role and potential of military women in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Party committees, commanders, and Committees for the Advancement of Women at all levels proactively concretize and develop Action Plans; mainstream gender into leadership resolutions, programs, and annual work plans; consolidate, perfect, and flexibly adjust organizational structures and operations in accordance with the task implementation situation and the process of streamlining the apparatus, merging, and adjusting the organization and staffing; improve the capacity of members of the Committee for the Advancement of Women; summarize and draw lessons from the work for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality to achieve quality and practical effectiveness.

In the political field, the ratio of female party members to the total number of party members in the entire army reached 10.85% (an increase of 2.7% compared to the beginning of the period); the ratio of female party members admitted to the army reached 7.85% compared to the total number of newly admitted party members; the ratio of female party members participating in Party committees at all levels reached 2.97% (an increase of 0.35% compared to the beginning of the period).
Women in the Army continue to promote their role and make practical contributions to foreign affairs and international cooperation, especially participating in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. From 2021 to present, three female officers have been promoted to the rank of General, one to the rank of Lieutenant General; many collectives and individuals of Women in the Army have been awarded noble titles and commended at all levels.
In the field of family life and prevention and response to gender-based violence, effectively implementing the program "Women in the Army accompany women in the border areas", "Military mothers sponsor" and three new models (Women in the Army give wings to dreams, Women in the Army spread love and Women in the Army show gratitude - continuing the traditional source) contribute to ensuring social security, preventing the risk of domestic violence and gender-based violence.
In addition, communication and education on gender equality have been strongly innovated, more than 90% of the staff of agencies and units have access to knowledge on gender equality; many programs, forums, competitions, and activities to honor outstanding women have been organized, creating positive social effects.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh commended the results and achievements of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of agencies and units in the 2021-2025 period.
In order for the work for the advancement of women and gender equality in the Army in the 2026-2030 period to achieve better results, Deputy Minister of National Defense Le Huy Vinh suggested that agencies and units in the entire army continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, documents of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the General Department of Politics; perfect the system of legal documents; and strengthen the Committee for the Advancement of Women at all levels to meet the requirements of implementing gender equality and the agenda of women, peace and security in the era of national development.
Strengthen propaganda and education work to raise awareness and sense of responsibility of all forces in the entire army, especially men, about the work for the advancement of women and gender equality; organize propaganda activities to attract female talents to serve long-term in the Army and prevent and respond to domestic violence and gender-based violence.
In addition, the Military Women's Committee - Standing Office of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the Ministry of National Defense proactively researches, advises, proposes, and coordinates with functional agencies to deploy solutions to thoroughly overcome existing limitations and shortcomings, and successfully achieve goals and targets in the coming time.
The member agencies of the Committee for the Advancement of Women of the Ministry of National Defense, according to their functions and tasks, direct vertical units to the grassroots level, and need to pay attention to ensuring gender equality in advising and proposing appropriate policies and regimes, creating conditions for women to fully enjoy the prescribed policies and regimes, while at the same time having conditions to promote their talents, creativity and comprehensive development.
At the Conference, 58 collectives and 50 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work for the advancement of women and gender equality in the 2021-2025 period were commended and rewarded.
