Synchronous investment in human and material resources
Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School (PTDTNT) was established in July 2001 under the decision of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province. Since its establishment, the school has always received investment attention from the province. Up to now, the basic facilities have met the needs of teaching, learning and caring for boarding students.
Specifically, the school invested in building a 3-storey classroom block with 12 classrooms, 3 rooms for teachers waiting for classes. The 2-storey administrative block includes 3 rooms for leaders, 3 rooms for professionals, 1 office, 1 finance room and 1 meeting room.
The female boarding block includes 12 rooms for students; 2 common rooms, 1 medical room, 1 student management room, ensuring accommodation for nearly 100 students. The male boarding block has 3 floors with 36 rooms for students, ensuring accommodation for nearly 290 students.

In addition, the school also invested in a communal dining hall, a block of subject buildings including practice laboratories; a library; a computer room, a foreign language classroom and a multi-purpose gymnasium...
Along with investing in facilities, the school also focuses on allocating human resources to ensure teaching needs. The school currently has 50 staff, teachers, and employees, of which over 30 are teachers, ensuring teaching of subjects according to the program. Every year, teachers at the school participate in training courses to improve their professional knowledge.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the school has more than 250 students, divided into 10 classes, of which more than 230 are ethnic minority students.

One of the highlights of Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School is the constant effort to preserve and promote the cultural values of the Khmer people. The school is one of the few educational institutions in the country that organizes Khmer language teaching as a core subject, with 3 periods/week. The teaching staff all meet professional standards, ensuring that language teaching is carried out systematically and scientifically.
In parallel with teaching literacy, Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School also focuses on activities to raise awareness of morality, intelligence, physical and aesthetic qualities for students; at the same time, actively implements the Campaign "Each teacher is an example of morality, self-study and creativity" and the Emulation Movement "Building a friendly school, active students".

“The school regularly organizes cultural, artistic and sports exchange activities, especially during the holidays and Tet of ethnic minorities. In these activities, the school focuses on training students in life skills, building loving and united relationships, preserving and promoting national cultural identity. The school also established a Khmer Cultural Club; a Pentatonic Music Club, where students can practice, perform and experience traditional values,” said Mr. Huu Ly Vui, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School.

Thach Thi Ai Vy, a student of class 12C3, Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School, said: “The learning environment here is very friendly, teachers always consider students as their own children and grandchildren, teaching and caring wholeheartedly. Friends love and support each other. The accommodation and meals of boarding students are also well taken care of. The school has implemented and supported policies for ethnic minority students in accordance with regulations.”
Proud achievements
Thanks to the local government's attention to investing in spacious school facilities, the staff and teachers are trained to meet or exceed standards, meeting the 2018 General Education Program, and are enthusiastic in teaching and educating students. Therefore, the quality of education at Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School is constantly improving.
“In the past 4 years, the graduation rate of grade 12 students of the school has reached 100%, the number of good and excellent students each year is more than 65%. The number of students who have graduated and continued to study at secondary schools, colleges and universities across the country accounts for 50 to 60%. Almost all state agencies in the province have officials who studied at Ca Mau Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, many of whom hold high positions,” informed Ms. Ly Kim Khanh, Vice Principal of the school.

Ms. Son Thi Hong Cam, who studied at Ca Mau Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, said that after graduating and completing her university degree, she asked to return here to teach, because more than anyone else, she felt the affection and dedication of the generation of teachers here for the cause of education and for ethnic minority students.
“When entering the school, everyone will immediately see the slogan “School is home, teachers are parents, friends are brothers”. I am very proud to be studying and training at this school, to live in the love of teachers and friends. Therefore, when I became a teacher here, I always wanted to continue to inspire ethnic minority students to study, to help their dreams fly, to help them become useful people for society”, Ms. Cam shared.
“Currently, the biggest difficulty of Ca Mau Ethnic Boarding School is the enrollment of students for grade 10. In the past 3 years, the school has not met its enrollment target because the number of ethnic minority children in the enrollment area is very small, accounting for only about 62% of the total number of students admitted for the first grade, so the implementation of policies for students is not consistent.
According to Decision 861 dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister on approving the list of communes in regions I, II, III in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021-2025, Ca Mau province (old) only has 1 ward in region I and 5 communes in region III, narrowing the scope of enrollment objects", Ms. Ly Kim Khanh, Vice Principal of the school shared.
