Quang Ninh has many advantages in agricultural development with typical agricultural products that bring high economic value such as Mong Cai pig, yellow flower tea, Tien Yen chicken, Ba Che Morinda officinalis, Binh Lieu vermicelli... Each product is closely linked to natural conditions, soil and regional cultural identity, creating a unique competitive advantage for local agriculture. The province has focused on planning concentrated production areas, applying science and technology, developing a chain from production to consumption, gradually forming a modern commodity agriculture.

Accordingly, the province has built a number of concentrated commodity production areas with a total area of about 6,358 hectares of rice, vegetables, and fruit trees (equivalent to more than 10,900 hectares of cultivated land); about 1,100 hectares of crops maintained production according to good agricultural production processes, of which 322.35 hectares have been granted VietGAP certificates; 90 hectares of rice, 329 hectares of cinnamon, 10 hectares of yellow camellia, 3 hectares of oranges, and 25 hectares of tea have been granted organic production certificates.
In Quang Tan commune, for decades, cinnamon has been considered a key product, bringing high economic efficiency to the ethnic minorities here. Cinnamon growing households concentrated in Tai Ly Say and Thanh Binh villages, from small-scale, fragmented production, have now applied organic growing processes, bringing higher farming efficiency and people's lives are increasingly prosperous.
People have mastered science and technology and especially proactively avoided or eliminated most of the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, and chemical substances that stimulate plant growth. Since then, the organic cinnamon forest areas in Quang Tan commune have been increasingly expanded. Currently, the organic cinnamon growing area has reached nearly 250 hectares and the products are contracted by Son Ha Spices Company Limited and Quang Ninh Cinnamon Joint Stock Company for processing, preservation, and consumption.
Mr. Chiu Di Senh, Tai Ly Say village said: "Organic production must follow a strict process, but in return, the products are of high quality, meet many strict criteria on food safety, and are purchased by businesses at stable prices. Therefore, people are confident in expanding the area, investing in better care, and their income has also increased significantly."

From the production process and branding methods, people and businesses in the localities in the ethnic minority areas have gradually become aware of the position and role of key agricultural products, so they have increasingly improved the quality, diversified the types, improved the design and packaging to get closer to consumers. Many typical specialty products have won the trust of consumers in and outside the province.
In the period of 2021-2025, Quang Ninh has determined to make OCOP an important economic development program, associated with the program of building new rural areas and restructuring the agricultural sector, with people as the main implementing subjects. To achieve the above goal, in recent times, the province has focused on developing key agricultural products associated with processing, product consumption, and increasing the value of agricultural products.

Thereby, the province always creates all conditions, supports and encourages enterprises, cooperatives and individuals to promote the application of science and technology in the production and business stages of products, especially OCOP products; implements support policies on brand building; trade promotion, product promotion; connects people, managers, scientists; supports loans for factory construction, technology investment...
The Provincial OCOP Steering Committee directs and guides localities in implementing propaganda work and the OCOP cycle. All products participating in the OCOP cycle must have a plan and roadmap for digital transformation; especially supporting product promotion and introduction on social networking sites, e-commerce sites to introduce products to supermarkets, retail chains and OCOP centers. Many production units have strengthened links with households to expand production and purchase raw materials for people; continue to improve organizational conditions to participate in product evaluation and ranking...
With the efforts of the government, businesses and people, agricultural products in the province, including OCOP products, are increasingly increasing in economic value. Through that, many key agricultural products are developed systematically, associated with safe production processes, contributing to improving the lives and sustainable poverty reduction for ethnic minority people.
