On November 28, the Institute for Enterprise Development - Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province and Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company (ACTIV) organized a workshop with the theme: "Brand development associated with intellectual property and traceability technology, an inevitable trend in the digital age".
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Luong Minh Huan, Director of the Institute for Enterprise Development, said that in the context of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution, brands are no longer just product identification marks but have become strategic assets of businesses and localities. At the same time, intellectual property plays an important role in protecting brand value, helping businesses assert ownership and create sustainable competitive advantages. As the market increasingly demands information transparency, product safety and traceability, the application of digital technology to track, authenticate and prove product quality has become an inevitable requirement.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Tran Quoc Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Lang Son province, said: Lang Son is a mountainous province with great potential for agricultural specialties, indigenous cultural products and border trade. In the context of strong digital transformation, when the market increasingly requires high quality, transparency of origin and brand protection, brand development associated with intellectual property and traceability technology has become an inevitable trend.
Combining digital technology with intellectual property protection not only protects intellectual property but also increases product value, supports exports and increases competitiveness for local businesses, cooperatives and producers.
Therefore, in recent times, Lang Son has encouraged enterprises and cooperatives, especially small and medium enterprises, to invest in digital transformation, apply science, technology and innovation to improve management, production, productivity and product quality. At the same time, the province has also promoted the development of information technology infrastructure, digital data and electronic platforms, creating conditions for enterprises and cooperatives to trace origins, digitize supply chains and make product information transparent, meeting the requirements of the modern market.
According to Mr. Bui Tien Quyet, Expert of Intellectual Property Management Department, National Intellectual Property Institute, Ministry of Science and Technology, in the digital age, brand, intellectual property and traceability are no longer three separate factors but have become a unified system, reinforcing each other and creating a foundation for businesses to improve their competitiveness. Developing brands associated with intellectual property and applying traceability technology not only helps businesses develop sustainably, but also meets new consumer trends, market regulations and requirements of the global supply chain.
At this workshop, Vietnam Anti-Counterfeiting Technology Joint Stock Company (ACTIV) introduced the TrueData traceability solution, applying three core technologies simultaneously: RFID - collecting, recording and authenticating product information in the supply chain; AI - data analysis; Blockchain - ensuring transparency and information immutability. The solution helps businesses improve supply chain management, protect brands and meet international traceability standards.

Mr. Pham Van Tho, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACTIV, said that TrueData helps businesses build trust and protect their brands. With the ability to access information with just one touch on NFC-integrated smartphones, consumers and authorities can access product data quickly, accurately and transparently. Thanks to these features, TrueData not only improves supply chain management capacity but also fully meets traceability standards in quality inspection and export, in line with the increasingly stringent requirements of the international market.
On this occasion, ACTIV officially launched its Representative Office in Lang Son province. The launch of the representative office demonstrates ACTIV's commitment to providing businesses and consumers with effective traceability tools, while also acting as a technological bridge, providing practical solutions to solve the problem of counterfeit goods and comprehensively protecting the interests of the local business community and consumers.
