On the morning of November 12, at Le Van Thiem Secondary School (Thanh Sen Ward), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a discussion on "Developing reading culture in the digital age".
Attending the seminar were Dr. Vu Thuy Duong - Head of Publishing Department - Academy of Journalism and Communication; representatives of departments, branches and localities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh Nguyen Cong Thanh emphasized that reading culture is not only a personal habit, but also a measure of the intellectual level of the people, the foundation of a civilized, creative and sustainable society. Preserving and developing reading culture in the digital age is to preserve the core of Vietnamese culture, the spirit of learning, respect for knowledge and the desire to rise through understanding. At the same time, he affirmed that the discussion program is a place where everyone can come together to decode the big question: How to develop reading culture in the digital age, so that electronic devices are not only entertainment tools but also effective means to access knowledge?

At the seminar, staff, teachers and students of Le Van Thiem Secondary School had a chance to interact with the speaker - Dr. Vu Thuy Duong - Head of Publishing Department, Academy of Journalism and Communication about the current situation and solutions to develop reading culture in the context of the digital age. The discussion focused on analyzing the challenges in attracting students to books, and at the same time proposed coordination between schools and families to build an effective reading environment, forming good reading habits.
In addition, Dr. Vu Thuy Duong shared stories, experiences and insights into reading culture in the digital age, thereby forming reading habits for students, aiming to build a generation of students who are not only good at knowledge but also rich in love and reading skills.

Within the framework of the program, Le Van Thiem Secondary School organized a contest "Introducing good books" for students of all grades to arouse the love of reading, spread reading culture among students and create space for them to express their creativity.
In this contest, each grade will send a student representative to introduce a favorite book for 5-10 minutes, with meaningful content, bringing humanistic values or profound lessons. Through the contest, students will share their perspectives, emotions and messages that the book brings - contributing to arousing the love of books in the whole school community.
