The patient, Richard Pablo, born in 1986, was transferred from General Hospital No. 4 in a deep coma, requiring intubation and mechanical ventilation. According to his family, Richard Pablo had a history of hypertension. Upon admission, his blood pressure reached 280 mmHg, exceeding the safe limit and posing a direct threat to his life.

After activating the stroke emergency protocol, the on-call team quickly controlled blood pressure and performed an emergency CT scan. The results revealed a large hematoma in the right cerebral hemisphere. Given the emergency situation, the doctors decided to perform open surgery to remove the hematoma, reducing the risk of brain damage.

The patient's family had initially considered transferring the patient to a central hospital. However, after being advised about the risks involved in the transfer and the importance of the "golden hour" in stroke treatment, the family decided to have the surgery in Lao Cai .
The surgery was performed immediately that night. Thanks to the seamless coordination of the medical team, the hematoma was successfully removed. After the surgery, the patient continued to receive intensive care and close monitoring of vital signs.
The success of the surgery is a testament to the professionalism and readiness of the medical team at the Emergency and Stroke Center, General Hospital No. 2 of Lao Cai province, in providing emergency care and treatment for stroke cases even during the Tet holiday, contributing to strengthening the confidence of the people and tourists in the quality of medical services in the area.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, Lao Cai Provincial General Hospital No. 2 proactively developed a 24/7 on-call plan, arranging sufficient emergency, resuscitation, surgical, and paraclinical teams to ensure medical examination and treatment services.
