The planning study area covers a total area of 2,428.83 hectares, including: the Chi Lang Historical Relic Area, comprising 24 special national relic sites, covering 284.23 hectares, and 22 national relic sites, covering 150.41 hectares; the Chi Lang Temple, covering 100 hectares; and the landscape area connecting the planning study areas, covering 1,894.2 hectares.
The planning area covers a total of 198.81 hectares; of which: Protection Zone I has a total area of 98.45 hectares and Protection Zone II has a total area of 100.36 hectares; encompassing the entire protected area of 24 component relics belonging to the Chi Lang National Special Historical Relic Site; divided into 05 clusters of relics, specifically:

Objectives of the monument planning
Preserving and promoting the outstanding values of the relic site, transforming it into a place for educating about patriotic traditions, enhancing national pride for generations of Vietnamese people, and creating an attractive cultural and historical tourism complex associated with the unique characteristics of the Chi Lang area, a key tourist destination of Lang Son province; contributing to the economic and social development of the region, improving the spiritual life of the local people; and simultaneously preserving the intangible cultural heritage values and cultural identity of the ethnic communities in the relic area and its surroundings.
Connecting the historical sites within the planning area aims to evoke the image of the historical Chi Lang battlefield; create links with other historical and cultural sites and scenic spots in Lang Son province, forming a rich and attractive chain of tourism products as well as suitable tourism models, contributing to the economic, social and tourism development of the province...
The content of the monument planning includes: functional zoning planning; guidelines for adjusting, expanding, or narrowing the monument protection area; plans for preserving, restoring, and rehabilitating the monument; planning for organizing the space for conservation, restoration, and promotion of the monument's value; guidelines for promoting the monument's value in conjunction with tourism development; and technical infrastructure planning...
In line with the orientation of promoting the value of historical sites in conjunction with tourism development, the tourist market for these sites includes international and domestic tourists; with domestic tourists being the key market.
Investing in the development of the historical site into a central tourist destination will serve as a driving force for the development of Chi Lang commune, Lang Son province, connecting it with other tourist areas and destinations within the province, region, and internationally.
