Danang Rubber Joint Stock Company, Coca-Cola Vietnam Beverage Company Limited Branch in Danang City and some businesses with import-export activities said that the container lifting/lowering fee at the port is still high, and proposed to reduce this cost to support businesses in the current difficult period.

According to information on the website of the General Department of Customs, the Da Nang Customs Department said that, according to the reference price of lifting/lowering a 20-foot container containing goods at Da Nang port, it is currently 572,000 VND. Meanwhile, at Hai Phong ports, it ranges from 748,000 - 900,000 VND; at ports in Ho Chi Minh City, it ranges from 363,000 - 800,000 VND; at Chan May port (Thua Thien-Hue province), it is 489,500 VND. It can be seen that the price of lifting/lowering containers at the ports varies quite a lot.

Container lifting/lowering fees at ports have different prices.

According to the Da Nang Customs Department, depending on each different port and with different incentives and promotions, this fee has significant differences at the ports.

However, this unit also explained that Da Nang seaport is close to the city center, traffic is convenient, goods gathered in Da Nang are convenient to move to neighboring areas in the Central and Central Highlands regions. And according to the port price list, the lifting/lowering fee at Da Nang port is not too high compared to ports in Ho Chi Minh City or Hai Phong.

Container lifting and lowering fees are fees collected by the port from the cargo owner and are usually collected when carrying out customs procedures. This fee is understood as the fee for lifting the container at the port onto the container trailer, or the fee for lowering the container on the container trailer to the port. The fee is collected when the cargo owner uses the service of renting a crane to lift and lower the container at the port during the import and export of goods. This fee is collected entirely by the port business unit, so it is not included in the local charges and each port has a different price.
