Super Mario Bros. Movie (directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic; distributed by Universal) has just crossed the $1 billion mark in global revenue on its 26th day of release, according to Variety . The film's North American revenue over the weekend, according to an early report from the same source, was $37.5 million from 4,204 theaters, bringing its total ticket sales there to $487.5 million; its international revenue (outside North America) over the weekend was $69 million, for a total of $533 million. The film's global revenue is $1.02 billion.

The Nintendo video game adaptation became the 10th animated film to join the billion-dollar club, and the first in 2023 to do so. Movie has now become a "national" film, seemingly overcoming all age limits to achieve its current success, according to The Hollywood Reporter . The film features the voice acting of actors: Chris Pratt (as Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (as Princess Peach), Charlie Day (as Luigi)... The film tells the story of the adventure of saving the mushroom land of two brothers Mario and Luigi.
In the coming time, the race at the box office for Super Mario Bros. Movie will be even more fierce when many other blockbusters will be released, such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 of Disney/Marvel.
