According to Nielsen Korea, after a 3-week absence, the 2 new episodes of the drama “Perfect Partner” attracted attention when maintaining good performance in terms of viewership. In the latest episode, the drama recorded a viewership of 17.7% - an increase of 4.1% compared to the previous episode's rating of 13.6%.
This achievement of the movie "Perfect Partner" is not only the highest since its broadcast but also officially defeated its predecessor movie "Mysterious Link" (played by Ji Sung, highest rating 14.2%).
Along with that, Jang Nara's divorce lawyer drama also achieved the highest viewership in the 20-49 age group with an average rating of 6.1% - becoming the most watched program in all genres broadcast this week.
Meanwhile, tvN's highly anticipated new romantic comedy "Love Next Door" debuted successfully, topping its time slot across all cable channels with a viewership rating of 4.9%.
Episode 1 of the film opens a complex but equally humorous story, revolving around the reunion after 10 years of the "childhood sweethearts" - Bae Seok Ryu (Jung So Min) and Choi Seung Hyo (Jung Hae In).
Both are outstanding children in the eyes of their parents, but Seok Ryu and Seung Hyo still have their own unspoken worries. The female lead's breaking off the engagement before the wedding day and quitting her job in the US to return to Korea was a major turning point in her life.
Seoul Ports (Korea) newspaper commented that episode 1 of the film brought joyful and warm laughter, heralding the birth of a stormy love story around the neighborhood that has never been seen before.
Along with that, the works of Jung Hae In and Jung So Min also suggest stories about neighborly relationships, friends, and each person's dreams.
In particular, the chemistry between the two main actors helped make “Love Next Door” more interesting.
While Jung Hae In was praised for his cool charm in his first romantic comedy, Jung So Min portrayed Seok Ryu's quirky yet adorable side well.
Her character receives sympathy from young people because she dares to live life to the fullest but also knows when to stop to rest.
Especially the scenes of Jung So Min - Jung Hae In "verbal fighting" where no one would give in to the other made viewers unable to stop laughing.
However, in the first episode, the film still has a minus point when the narration and flashback of the past of the two main male and female mothers are long-winded, taking up 1/3 of the duration. However, the charming acting of the actors makes it easy for viewers to overlook this.
