On August 27, the film crew of the Vietnamese version of the film project "Love by mistake for a best friend" officially started filming, marking the beginning of the film's production process, and at the same time setting the premiere date for the first day of Lunar New Year 2025.
Love the wrong best friend is a Vietnamese version of the famous Thai film - Friend Zone. The film revolves around the ironic love story between two best friends of the opposite sex.
In the film, Kaity Nguyen will take on the female lead role, which was successfully played by Thai actress Baifern Pimchanok in the original version. In addition to taking on the female lead role, Kaity Nguyen also serves as the creative director.

Talking about taking on the role of creative director at the same time, Kaity Nguyen shared: "I think it's been a long time since Vietnamese cinema has had a true rom-com (romantic comedy) project. The original script is already interesting, after 5 years we will update it to suit the times and the Vietnamese market. The film will be filmed in many places across Vietnam so the audience will enjoy many beautiful scenes of the country with us."
Paired with Kaity is actor Tran Ngoc Vang. He left his mark through diverse roles, from the "good vampire" in The Sun Man to the scheming villain in On the Drinking Table, Under the Plot. The male lead role of being infatuated with his best friend in "Love by Mistake" promises to exploit his beauty and emotional acting.
Actor Tran Ngoc Vang also shared: "I am very excited to collaborate with Kaity Nguyen, director Diep The Vinh and director Nguyen Quang Dung for the first time. I also love the original and see 80% of myself in the male lead character, so since watching the original I thought if there was a remake, I would like to take on the male lead role. I am so happy that the two directors chose me for this project."
