Over the past weekend, Zootopia 2 continued to hold the top spot at the Vietnamese box office with 31.5 billion VND and an overwhelming number of screenings. Currently, the film's box office revenue in Vietnam has reached 186 billion VND and is predicted to soon surpass 200 billion VND in the coming days.
Coming in second place is the recently released animated film * King of Kings * with 6 billion VND. However, the huge revenue gap between the two top-grossing animated films is evident, with *King of Kings* earning only one-fifth of Zootopia 2.
The film "The Devil Prince," starring Anh Tú Atus and Lương Thế Thành, dropped to third place at the box office, earning only 4.8 billion VND last weekend. Currently, the film has only reached 25 billion VND after 10 days of release, according to Box Office Vietnam data.
Meanwhile, "Searching for Ambergris," starring Doan Quoc Dam, remains firmly in the Top 4 with 4.2 billion VND earned over the past three days of the weekend and has now surpassed the 200 billion VND mark in Vietnamese theaters.
The film that garnered attention this past weekend was "The Generation of Miracles" by director Hoang Nam, which had previously caused a sensation earlier this year with the blockbuster " The Ghost Lamp," grossing hundreds of billions of dong. The film had early screenings from December 10th and officially premiered on December 12th, but as of the morning of December 15th, it had only grossed 712 million dong. This means the film is certain to incur losses and will be among the lowest-grossing Vietnamese films of 2025.
On the very first day of the film's official release, director Hoang Nam shared on his personal page: "Thank you for your support over the past few days. But at this point, I have to accept that the film 'The Generation of Miracles' has failed at the box office. Although I am very sad about this painful fall, at this time I really hope to receive your opinions and reviews about 'The Generation of Miracles' in the comments below so that I can get back on my feet next time."
This weekend, the box office is expected to be shaken by the release of the blockbuster Avatar 3. Therefore, it will be very difficult for Generation of Miracles to turn things around.
