Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Huong extended New Year greetings to union members and workers who did not return to their hometowns for Tet in Nenh ward.

BAC NINH - In preparation for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on the evening of February 14th (the evening of the 27th day of the 12th lunar month), a delegation from the province, led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended the program "Tet Not Away from Home - Spring of the Horse 2026" and encouraged and extended New Year greetings to union members and workers who did not return to their hometowns for Tet in Nenh Ward. Also accompanying the delegation were representatives from the Provincial Party Committee Office, the Provincial Police, and the Provincial Federation of Labor.

The program "Tet Not Away From Home - Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026" was held at the boarding house of Ms. Duong Thi Thang's family (Van Coc 3 residential area). There, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong and the delegation kindly inquired about the living conditions, employment, and Tet plans of the workers; they also presented Tet gifts to the boarding house owner and 50 workers who were working and producing throughout Tet at the enterprise, staying in the locality instead of returning home for the holiday.

It is known that in Nenh ward, there are more than 3,000 lodging houses with over 110,000 migrant workers residing there. During the Lunar New Year of 2026, a review revealed that approximately 600 workers remained on duty and worked at various companies and businesses.

Speaking at the program, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Huong affirmed: Along with the attention of the Party and the State, in recent years, Bac Ninh province has issued many mechanisms and policies to ensure social security, support people to escape poverty sustainably, and pay special attention to caring for the poor, policy beneficiary families, people with meritorious services and workers during Tet.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Huong presented Tet gifts from the province to the family of the guesthouse owner, Duong Thi Thang.

To prepare for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, Bac Ninh province has directed all levels and sectors to develop plans to organize many practical activities to care for the lives of the people, ensuring that everyone and every family can have a warm and fulfilling Tet holiday. The program "Tet Not Far From Home - Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026" is an activity with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the concern and sharing of all levels, sectors, and trade unions towards workers.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee shared: "During Tet (Lunar New Year), everyone wishes to reunite with their families. However, each worker has different circumstances; some choose to stay in Bac Ninh to work during Tet due to economic conditions, job requirements, or their responsibility to the enterprise." He expressed sympathy and acknowledged the sense of responsibility of the workers. He hoped that those workers who stayed would still have a joyful, warm, and safe Tet; and that they would strive to work harder and contribute even more to the development of the enterprise and the province.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Huong chatted with and encouraged the workers who were unable to return home for Tet.

We urge the local authorities to continue paying more attention to ensuring a happy and fulfilling Tet holiday for the people in Nenh Ward in general, and for migrant workers in particular, so that everyone can have a complete and joyful Tet. We also request that landlords continue to cooperate with the local Party committee, government, and trade union organizations, regularly sharing difficulties and actively supporting and encouraging migrant workers to stay and work, stabilize their lives, and focus on production.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, representing the workers who stayed to work during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, expressed: "We are deeply moved and grateful for the concern, visits, and encouragement from the provincial and local leaders and the trade union. Although many of us cannot return home to reunite with our families, we still feel the warmth before the New Year. This is a great source of encouragement for us to continue working hard, contributing to the development of the enterprise and our homeland."
