The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly presents gifts to families entitled to preferential policies and poor households in Quang Ngai province.

The Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is fast approaching. Leaders of the Party and State, along with various associations and organizations in Quang Ngai province, have organized numerous programs to visit and present thousands of gifts to families receiving preferential treatment, revolutionary veterans, impoverished households, and union members and workers in the province, hoping to bring them a warm, complete, and joyful Tet holiday.

A delegation from the National Assembly , led by Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong, visited, encouraged, and presented 200 Tet gifts (each worth 1 million VND in cash and gifts) to policy beneficiary families, poor households, and disadvantaged workers in Duc Pho ward, Quang Ngai province.

During the visit, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong expressed deep gratitude for the great sacrifices and contributions of policy beneficiary families in the cause of national defense; at the same time, he requested that policy beneficiary families continue to uphold the tradition, set a good example, and contribute even more actively to the socio-economic development of the locality.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the capacity of the Party Committee and government of Duc Pho ward after the merger. With a new mindset and renewed momentum, the ward's Party Committee and government have truly been close to the people, listening to their thoughts, aspirations, and suggestions; and promptly advising the province and the central government on solutions. The successful implementation of more than 1,600 delegated tasks has demonstrated the leadership's capabilities and determination.

According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Duc Pho ward needs to leverage its strengths and internal resources, innovate its growth model, and focus on industry, culture, and tourism for sustainable development. The ward also needs to "ensure that its people have food and clothing," considering this a crucial, core issue and a great responsibility of the current generation of officials.

To ensure a happy Lunar New Year for disadvantaged workers, the Quang Ngai Provincial Federation of Labor organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" program in the western part of the province. A total of 1,000 gifts were distributed to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, supported by leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This demonstrates the deep concern of leaders at all levels and the trade union organization for the lives of union members and workers. Through this program, the Quang Ngai Provincial Federation of Labor hopes that grassroots trade unions will continue to better implement the motto "All union members and workers have a happy Lunar New Year."

In the spring of 2026 (Year of the Horse), Quang Ngai province was one of 10 localities nationwide selected by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee to organize the "Compassionate Tet" program at the central level. The program successfully completed its goal of donating 1,000 gift packages to poor and near-poor households and families affected by the 2025 floods in Binh Son, Binh Minh, and Dong Son communes.

This is an annual activity with profound humanitarian significance, reflecting the Vietnamese people's tradition of mutual support and compassion, and making a significant contribution to caring for the poor during Tet (Lunar New Year).
