Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee visits families affected by fire in District 1

(NLDO) - Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai gave support of 2 million VND/person to households whose houses were burned down; and 1 million VND/person to households whose houses were affected.

On the evening of January 28 (29th of Lunar New Year), Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai visited the families affected by the fire in alley 42 Tran Dinh Xu, Co Giang ward, District 1.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai gave support of 2 million VND/person to households whose houses were burned down; and 1 million VND/person to households whose houses were affected. The total support was 133 million VND.

According to the report of Co Giang Ward Police, at 1:15 p.m. on January 28, Co Giang Ward People's Committee received a fire report.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Ward People's Committee organized forces to coordinate with the Fire Police Team and District 1 Police to inspect and handle the situation. By nearly 2:00 p.m., the fire was under control and by 2:20 p.m. the fire was completely extinguished.

According to initial records, the fire occurred at houses 42/1/2, 42/1/3, 42/1/4, 42/1/5, 42/1/6, 42/1/7, 42/1/9 Tran Dinh Xu, some surrounding houses were scorched and covered in smoke. Initial records showed no human casualties.

The cause of the incident is being investigated by the authorities.

Currently, 18 households with 88 people are temporarily staying at 71 Ho Hao Hon Street, Co Giang Ward, District 1.
