On the afternoon of January 21st, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, worked with the Standing Committee and People's Committee of Quang Phu commune.

Quang Phu commune was established by merging three administrative units: Quang Phu commune, Dak Nang commune, and Duc Xuyen commune. After the merger, the commune has 21 villages, hamlets, and settlements, with a total area of ​​over 264 km² and a population of approximately 17,546 people from 15 ethnic groups living together. Of these, ethnic minorities account for 38.3% of the population.

Quang Phu is a locality with great potential for developing tourism associated with agriculture , rural areas, and ecology. The commune possesses a large area of ​​agricultural land, many specialized farming areas, and distinctive, high-quality OCOP products such as volcanic oranges, tangerines, volcanic avocados, pomelos, coffee, etc.

Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Phu commune, Chau Van Bay, delivered a speech at the working session.

Nam Kar Volcano in Phu Son village, Quang Phu commune, is heritage site number 7 of the UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark, located on the "Epic of Water and Fire" tourist route, and was ranked as a provincial-level scenic spot on June 24, 2025.

The main area of ​​the volcano covers approximately 167,600 m², with relatively flat terrain and a suitable slope for the construction of tourism facilities. In recent years, the area at the foot of the volcano has received significant infrastructure investment, and the facilities are gradually being completed, forming the infrastructure to serve visitors.

Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Construction Phan Nhat Thanh participated in the meeting to offer his opinions.

The volcanic area has a convenient location, bordering National Highway 28, a vital route connecting localities in the region, creating conditions for the formation of a tourism linkage chain and contributing to the diversification of local tourism products.

During the working session, the delegation from the Provincial People's Committee listened to proposals and recommendations from the locality regarding rural infrastructure development; personnel and organizational structure of the local government; and the development of tourism products associated with the Nam Kar volcano.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the local efforts in the past period. Despite being a commune facing many difficulties and partly affected by natural disasters, the Party Committee, government, and people of Quang Phu commune have united and strived to overcome challenges, gradually creating momentum for socio-economic development.

Comrade Dinh Van Tuan, Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, along with the working group, inspected and surveyed the Nam Kar volcanic area.

Comrade Dinh Van Tuan suggested that localities continue to proactively consolidate and streamline their organizational structures; focus on overcoming difficulties and effectively utilizing existing potentials and advantages; and review each sector and field to develop growth scenarios, contributing to achieving the overall "double-digit" growth target of the entire province.

Economically, the locality needs to research and promote the development of agricultural economy linked to local advantages, improving the quality and value of OCOP products. Besides effectively exploiting the tourism potential of Nam Kar volcano in a sustainable manner, linking economic development with heritage preservation and environmental protection, the locality needs to define and develop types of services to support tourism. This will create jobs, increase income, and improve the lives of local people.

In addition, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested localities to pay attention to and prioritize social welfare; promote cultural, artistic, and sports movements among the people; maintain political security and social order; strengthen national defense and security; and create a stable and favorable environment for socio-economic development in the area.
