On the morning of November 1, comrade Nguyen Minh, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation visited and inspected the communes of Tuyen Quang, Ham Kiem and Ham Thanh.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh presented the symbolic amount of 300 million VND from Lam Dong province's officials and people to Tuyen Quang commune.

Accordingly, the recent floods in Tuyen Quang commune have caused inundation of 59.5 hectares of dragon fruit, with damage ranging from 20-50%; and damage to 11 shrimp ponds, with an area of ​​about 1.9 hectares in Tien Hoa village, with estimated damage of about 1.75 billion VND.

In Ham Kiem commune, heavy rain flooded the houses of 397 households in the villages of Dang Thanh, Dai Thanh, Dan Binh, Van Phong, Dan Hiep; flooded 539 hectares of dragon fruit, 76.2 hectares of rice, 1.5 hectares of crops...

Total damage to agricultural production is about 6 billion VND.

In addition, the rain and floods also caused traffic to be flooded at two underground points across the Suoi Thi spillway in Dai Thanh and Dang Thanh villages.

Floodwaters over 2 meters high made it impossible for vehicles and people to pass through. Some students had to stay home from school.

Many dragon fruit areas of Ham Kiem commune and other communes have been flooded in recent days.

In Ham Thanh commune alone, heavy rains in recent days have led to flash floods along the Linh River and flooding along streams, causing damage to crops, flowers, and houses of local people.

The total estimated damage as of October 31 was about 12.98 billion VND; of which, 105 hectares of agricultural area were affected, with damage of 2.36 billion VND, mainly dragon fruit, corn, and rice; damage to works of 10.5 billion VND; landslides in irrigation and traffic works; damage to houses of 120 million VND.

The Provincial People's Committee leaders presented the symbol of 300 million VND support from the officials and people of Lam Dong province to Ham Kiem commune.

Currently, the Commune People's Committee and the villages are conducting statistics and making a list of specific damaged objects to synthesize and propose the province to support from the Provincial Disaster Prevention Fund according to regulations.

Regarding irrigation, the commune continues to suffer from serious erosion of the Linh River bank. The Linh River bridge section at Team 2, Ham Can 1 Village has eroded about 50m into the land being used by households.

There are places where landslides are up to 100m deep, with an estimated value of about 3 billion VND. The dangerous level of riverbank landslides directly threatens the homes, property and lives of 100 households living along the Linh River...

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Working Group inspected the landslide situation on Linh River in Ham Thanh Commune.

At the places visited and inspected, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee grasped the damage caused by natural disasters in the communes; at the same time, sent words of encouragement to local authorities and people in flood-affected areas.

The Provincial People's Committee leaders commended localities for being proactive and promoting the 4-on-the-spot motto in natural disaster prevention and control, promoting the spirit of mutual love and support among the people.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the Working Group presented the support symbol of 500 million VND from officials and people of Lam Dong province to Ham Thanh commune.

At the same time, it is noted that localities affected by floods in general and the communes of Tuyen Quang, Ham Kiem and Ham Thanh in particular have proactively and quickly implemented the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, helping to minimize damage, especially human loss.
