Regarding investment attraction, Nghe An continues to be a bright spot when it has been in the top 10 localities nationwide in attracting FDI for 3 consecutive years. Up to now, the province has had 166 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of more than 6.8 billion USD. According to the plan until 2030, the province has 8,600 hectares of land for industrial development, of which there are currently nearly 2,000 hectares of clean land, with areas of interest such as mechanical manufacturing, automobile assembly, spare parts...

Through the working sessions in Switzerland, the Nghe An delegation realized that Switzerland has 3 areas that Nghe An province really wants the Ambassador to pay attention to and promote cooperation. First, the anti-flooding infrastructure system in urban areas, especially Vinh urban area, and satellite cities to overcome flooding.

Second, industrial infrastructure, specifically the processing industry, especially in the forestry sector. Switzerland is a country that uses a lot of wood, while Nghe An has an advantage in forests, with 1.16 million hectares of forest, the largest in the country; each year there are 240 thousand hectares of planted forests, exploiting about 1.8 million m3 of wood of all kinds, but basically exporting raw materials such as wood chips and wood panels. Nghe An has also been approved by the Prime Minister for a high-tech forestry zone with 618 hectares, so it is very eager to attract investors in this field. In addition, Nghe An has 36 thousand hectares of planted forests with FSC certification; currently 3.7 million tons of carbon credits have been sold.

Third, in the field of fruit processing, Nghe An has a microclimate, the temperature difference between day and night is very large, so there are many delicious vegetables and fruits, especially pineapple. Nghe An is also a province that suffers a lot of damage caused by natural disasters and one of the reasons is that there is no warning system or flood map, so it is very necessary to cooperate with international organizations and investment funds. In addition, in the field of clean energy, the province is currently preparing to invest in the Quynh Lap 1.5MGW gas-fired power project, the fields of wind power, solar power, and biomass power need the participation of large investors.

Ambassador Mai Phan Dung affirmed that the Delegation is very eager to contribute to the development of the country. The areas that the Delegation is responsible for include nearly 40 international organizations in many fields, from politics, security, economics, trade, science and technology, meteorology, natural disaster warning... The Delegation has relationships with major institutions. On a general level, the whole country and localities are in great need of financial resources, science and technology, green transformation, green energy and green agriculture.
