On November 27, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan worked with the survey delegation of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) led by Ms. Song Eun Eui - Deputy Permanent Director of KOICA Asia and KOICA Vietnam to discuss and study the feasibility of the "Project to enhance capacity for data analysis of water quality management in Bac Giang province". Attending the meeting were representatives of the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment, Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment and members of the KOICA delegation.

The project “Building capacity for data analysis of water quality management in Bac Giang province” was agreed by WEKOTEC Co., Ltd. with KOICA to invest and support in Bac Giang province. The project aims to establish a water quality monitoring system and apply a modern information system to improve the water environment in Bac Giang province. The project calls for ODA capital from the Korean Government of about 6 million USD, with an expected implementation period of 04 years (from 2026 to 2029).
The project will install automatic water quality monitoring systems at 25 locations on the Thuong, Cau and Luc Nam rivers. Of which, river water quality monitoring will be installed at 10 locations including: Huong Son Commune (Lang Giang); Tho Xuong Ward (Bac Giang City); Dong Lo Commune (Hiep Hoa District); Doi Ngo Town (Luc Nam District); Chu Town (Luc Ngan District); Viet Ngoc Commune (Tan Yen District); Cam Dan Commune (Son Dong District); Son Hai Commune (Luc Ngan District); Vu Xa Commune area (Luc Nam District); Bo Ha Bridge area (Yen The District).
Installing 5 wastewater quality monitoring locations in the Western Urban Area (Bac Giang City); Tien Son - Ninh Son Urban and Service Area (Viet Yen Town); Chau Minh - Bac Ly - Huong Lam Urban and Service Area (Hiep Hoa District); Hoa Phu Urban and Service Area (Hiep Hoa District); Bac Lung Urban and Service Area (Luc Nam District).
At the same time, install 10 water quality monitoring locations at the following lakes: Khuon Than (Kien Lao commune, Luc Ngan district); Cam Son (Son Hai, Ho Dap, Tan Son, Cam Son communes, Luc Ngan district); Suoi Mo (Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam district); Khe Hang (Vinh An commune, Son Dong district); Dong Coc (Dong Coc commune, Luc Ngan district); Khe Chao (Long Son commune, Son Dong district); Suoi Nua (Dong Phu commune, Luc Nam district); Suoi Cay (Dong Huu commune, Yen The district); Da Ong and Cau Re (Tien Thang commune, Yen The district).
In addition, in this Project, WEKOTEC Company Limited also builds and deploys contents related to water quality monitoring and control systems, organizes training on water quality management system operations, and trains in water quality data analysis for localities in Bac Giang province.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Song Eun Eui - Deputy Permanent Director of KOICA Asia highly appreciated the support of Bac Giang province for KOICA in recent years. At the same time, she expressed her desire to continue to accompany the provincial government to bring more projects to the locality.
Ms. Song Eun Eui said that in early 2024, the project "Human resource program for developing countries' industry" was also implemented by KOICA at the Vietnam - Korea College of Technology to enhance local industrial development. Along with the project at the Vietnam - Korea College of Technology , the project "Building capacity for data analysis of water quality management in Bac Giang province" supported by KOICA in coordination with WEKOTEC Co., Ltd. in the province will contribute significantly to improving water pollution and promoting local economic development in the current period.
In the coming time, KOICA hopes that Bac Giang province will actively coordinate with WEKOTEC Company Limited to complete the procedures and documents, survey and investigate the feasibility of the project so that the project can be soon implemented in the province, contributing to strengthening the diplomatic relationship between Korea and Bac Giang province.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan thanked the Korean Government and KOICA for their contributions, support, and implementation of project programs in the province in recent times. He also expressed his joy that the province continued to be selected by KOICA and WEKOTEC Company Limited to implement new projects.
After listening to the report, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan The Tuan said that the project plays an important and necessary role for Bac Giang province, especially in the current context, Bac Giang province is developing industry strongly, environmental pollution and water pollution are some of the challenges for localities in the province.
The successful implementation of the project will contribute to helping localities in the province better implement water resource management and planning contents of Bac Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 219/QD-TTg dated February 17, 2022. The province will actively coordinate with KOICA and WEKOTEC Company Limited to complete procedures for early implementation of the project to ensure efficiency.
Emphasizing the relationship between Bac Giang province and Korea, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, he will receive attention and support from Korea, especially KOICA; Korean enterprises will continue to choose to invest in Bac Giang province, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province, promoting the relationship between Bac Giang province and Korea in general and KOICA in particular to become increasingly stronger.
