
Construction is progressing rapidly, in preparation for the opening day.
The inspection team included Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Spring Fair; representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; the Ministry of Finance; the Ministry of Public Security ; the Hanoi People's Committee, etc.

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that, according to updates from the relevant units, the construction and setup of the various zones are currently being carried out urgently.
Currently, all areas inside and outside the Exhibition Hall are under urgent construction day and night. Specifically, for the exterior area, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has appointed VEC as the contractor, and VEC is currently setting up and constructing the items according to the design and visual representation as presented at the Steering Committee meeting on January 8, 2026.
Regarding the interior of the Exhibition Hall, Ministries such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment have received the land, appointed contractors, and are currently implementing the setup and construction according to the assigned zones in the Project.

For the 34 provinces and cities, as of the morning of January 30th, all 34 provinces and cities have assigned specialized units to exchange and receive information on exhibition space, including location, area, and requirements for content and technical aspects of the local exhibition area, ranging from 200 to 250 square meters.
Sharing more on this matter, Ms. Pham Thi Hien, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Center Joint Stock Company, said that so far about 53% of the units have received their space; for special booths, this rate has reached over 40%. The organizing committee has proactively contacted businesses and no businesses have refused to participate. However, some businesses located far away requested to have the construction done outside and only bring the equipment in for installation at the exhibition.
Currently, the two entrance gates have been open continuously for two days, operating 24/7 to provide maximum support for the implementing units. Many businesses and localities are continuing construction day and night to meet the deadline.
At the meeting, Ms. Hien also proposed strengthening coordination in market management, controlling the origin and quality of goods, while ensuring security, environmental protection, and waste management, demonstrating a readiness to implement work 24/7.
Regarding communication and promotion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan informed that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has sent documents to ministries, sectors, and localities to announce the logo and brand identity so that ministries, sectors, and localities can coordinate in promoting and publicizing the event before, during, and after the Fair. Information about the Fair was also announced at the Ministry of Industry and Trade's regular press conference held on the morning of January 29, 2026. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is also coordinating with Vietnam Television and relevant units to develop a plan for live broadcasting of the Opening Ceremony, ensuring the technical aspects of recording, broadcasting, and media coverage of the event.
The Opening Ceremony of the Spring Fair will take place at 10:00 AM on February 2nd, 2026. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has already developed a plan assigning responsibilities to relevant ministries and agencies, including specific arrangements for reception, traffic flow, seating, and a layout of delegate areas.
Government ministries and local authorities are actively involved.
At the meeting, representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated that the assigned tasks have been largely implemented and progress is being accelerated.
Regarding the booth content, the Ministry has actively called upon and mobilized businesses and organizations to participate. Currently, setup is underway, and it is expected that all booths will be completed by the evening of January 30th.
For the opening and closing ceremonies, there will be stage performances, including three artistic programs organized to entertain tourists and local people. In addition, several thematic activities such as tourism promotion and introductions to local festivals will be integrated, contributing to spreading the spring atmosphere.

During the implementation process, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested relevant units to create favorable conditions for businesses, especially for certain specialized booths that are outside the standard, which businesses can organize and build themselves.
Sharing more details on this matter, People's Artist Nguyen Xuan Bac, Director of the Department of Performing Arts - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the art program is currently being staged with the spirit of "a new spring - a new era," reflecting the harmony of the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam. From the opening performance, the program will use a mashup of three representative songs from the three regions, creating a striking opening highlight.
Next came songs associated with spring, recreating the beauty of nature and the fresh atmosphere of the country in the new year. The program featured many beloved singers such as My Linh, My Anh, Dong Nhi, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Mai Thi, Bao Tram, Thu Hang… contributing to attracting a large number of locals and tourists.
People's Artist Xuan Bac added that the Department of Performing Arts has assigned tasks to specialized units, including the Vietnam Circus Federation, to develop many programs with a festive and inspiring atmosphere, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the event. With a duration of 12 days, the Department of Performing Arts has directed the organization of a series of unique artistic programs, committing to making the central stage the core area to spread the festive atmosphere.
Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment stated that, as assigned, the Ministry is responsible for the Vietnam-Land agricultural product zone, which will spread the spirit of spring and covers an area of over 9,000 m². To date, preparation and construction work has progressed relatively well, adhering closely to the set schedule and striving for completion on time.
In terms of spatial design, the entire exhibition area utilizes bamboo materials to reflect the spirit of Vietnamese rural life. The products showcased come from 280 units, including businesses and cooperatives, focusing on OCOP products, products with geographical indications, and consumer goods for Tet (Lunar New Year).
“Currently, all participating units have fully implemented their plans and are ready to put the exhibition area into operation. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is also actively coordinating with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare approximately 100 gift packages containing OCOP products and regional specialties to be used for gift-giving activities within the framework of mini-games and cultural performances,” a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment stated.
On the Hanoi side, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee, stated that activities in the Hanoi section are implemented with the theme "Tet Reunion," in which the space is divided into four main areas. Firstly, there is a traditional Tet experience area, including activities such as calligraphy art performances, performances by artisans, flower displays, and the arrangement of the five-fruit tray. Secondly, there is a space for introducing and selling typical Hanoi products. Thirdly, there is an area for displaying and selling OCOP products. In addition, Hanoi has added spaces for peach blossoms, kumquats, Tet flowers, and miniature landscapes, creating a vibrant and colorful highlight for the entire area.
Regarding the implementation schedule, due to early preparation, the bidding and selection of the construction unit were completed in advance, and no obstacles arose during the implementation process. The setup work will be focused on and completed on schedule before 10:00 AM on February 1st; merchandise display will begin in the afternoon of the same day, ensuring the space is fully completed before 10:00 AM.
Regarding security, order, and safety, Hanoi has held meetings and directed relevant departments and units. "Market management forces have been instructed to strengthen inspections and controls to prevent the sale of substandard goods," said Mr. Nguyen Van Phong.
The city also developed plans to ensure security and safety throughout the fair, adding bus routes to serve people visiting and shopping; while also focusing on environmental sanitation and decorating with trees and flowers along the extended section of Highway 5. The health sector was tasked with ensuring timely medical care in case of any sudden health problems, along with ensuring a stable and safe power supply for the entire fair area.
During the meeting, ministries such as the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and media outlets were also urgently implementing their assigned tasks, preparing for the opening ceremony of the fair on the morning of February 2, 2026.
We are determined to vigorously implement the Spring Fair 2026 with the highest level of enthusiasm.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that, in the largest national exhibition center, the Spring Fair is being held for the first time not only to welcome the new spring but also to welcome a new era following the success of the 14th National Party Congress. The overall spirit is to showcase a vibrant, lively, and bustling spring atmosphere, befitting the event and the expectations of the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized two important milestones for the Spring Fair: 4 PM on Sunday, February 1st (final inspection and dress rehearsal) and 10 AM on February 2nd (opening ceremony). In that spirit, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the Organizing Committee to develop a detailed plan, ensuring the synchronized completion of both organizational and preparatory programs for the aforementioned events.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in its role as the Standing Committee and Organizing Committee, to proactively coordinate with the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Center Joint Stock Company (VEC) and other ministries, sectors, and localities to organize the fair on schedule and ensure quality; at the same time, to compile the budget proposed by ministries, sectors, and localities, and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to review and appraise it according to regulations.
Regarding the Ministry of Culture and Vietnam Television (VTV), the Deputy Prime Minister requested thorough preparation of artistic programs, and also consideration of introducing art forms and cultural programs that have been recognized by UNESCO at the fair, in order to enhance the cultural value and reach of the event.
Appreciating VEC's commitment to supporting this fair, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the unit to enhance the decoration of the outdoor area to clearly reflect the spring atmosphere; and at the same time ensure infrastructure and service facilities, combining e-commerce applications and home delivery services for consumers.
Regarding the Hanoi People's Committee, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged the proactive work that had been undertaken, while also noting the need for close coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in market management, ensuring the quality of goods, preventing counterfeit and fake products, and ensuring security and safety throughout the duration of the fair.
Regarding information and communication work, the Deputy Prime Minister requested that press agencies closely coordinate with the Organizing Committee; the main information points should be VTV and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, proactively preparing promotional content to provide to media agencies. The communication efforts should fully disseminate information to consumers about products at the fair, various product categories, promotional programs, and accompanying amenities such as free parking, thereby increasing the attractiveness and effectiveness of the event's communication.
