Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attends the Conference to Announce the Planning of Quang Tri Province

The conference aims to provide basic information on the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; introduce and promote the province's potential, advantages, and investment attraction orientation to domestic and foreign investors.

Summarizing the process of making the Provincial Planning, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Vo Van Hung said that the planning of Quang Tri province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1737/QD-TTg, dated December 29, 2023, is an event of special significance for the development of the province.

Quang Tri Provincial Planning has fully and creatively inherited the viewpoints and development orientations in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the National Socio-Economic Development Strategy and the Resolution of the 17th Quang Tri Provincial Party Congress. The province has closely followed the guiding viewpoints, goals and development orientations of the National Master Plan; the North Central and Central Coastal Region Planning, national sectoral planning and Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coastal Region for the period 2020-2030, with a vision to 2045 to ensure consistency and unity in development orientations.

During the planning process, Quang Tri province always kept in mind the profound direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh: "Only with good consultants can there be good planning, only with good planning can there be good projects, only with good projects can there be good investors". Therefore, immediately after the Law on Planning was issued, Quang Tri proactively implemented the planning work. The province mobilized the participation of the entire political system, closely coordinated with central ministries, branches, domestic and foreign consulting units to complete the provincial planning.

Provincial planning is the basis and foundation for the province to exploit and promote its potential and strengths, attract investment, mobilize resources, implement socio-economic development orientations, and soon realize the goal of making Quang Tri a province with fast and sustainable development.

Quang Tri identifies planning as a top priority task; aiming to create the highest legal framework, an important tool to orient the development of socio-economic space, and effectively allocate and use resources.

According to the Plan, Quang Tri province identifies 4 breakthroughs: building synchronous transport infrastructure; strongly improving the investment and business environment; completing digital transformation; preparing and improving the quality of human resources; creating an attractive living and working environment to attract talent; 8 key tasks; 4 sub-regions; 6 development corridors and development plans for the Southeast Economic Zone and Lao Bao Special Economic-Trade Zone.

The goal set for 2030 is that Quang Tri will reach a development level among the country's fairly developed provinces, with a basic economic structure of an industrial-service province; be one of the comprehensive economic centers of the North Central and Central Coast regions, a logistics and goods transit center of the Southeast Asian region.

By 2050, Quang Tri province will become a province with a strong economy with the main structure being industry and services and will be one of the driving forces for development in the North Central and Central Coast regions; national defense and security will be ensured, and people will have a happy life.

Speaking at the Conference to Announce the Planning of Quang Tri Province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that this is an important event taking place on the occasion of Quang Tri celebrating the 35th anniversary of the province's founding (1989-2024); organizing activities to celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) and the Festival for Peace in 2024.

The planning will create new momentum and influence for Quang Tri to enter a new stage of development. The Quang Tri provincial planning announced today was built with a breakthrough mindset and long-term vision based on the distinct potential of natural resources and culture.

The provincial planning will play a role in shaping the province's development space in close organic linkages with the provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions. The planning will open up opportunities and development space, creating more momentum for Quang Tri to develop strongly, becoming an attractive investment destination for large domestic and foreign enterprises.

To implement and complete the planning goals set by the province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized the need to urgently implement the planning with a specific action program and plan, and clearly assign tasks and responsibilities among agencies. Organize and effectively implement the tasks set out in the planning.

Pay attention to investing in completing economic and social infrastructure in a synchronous manner, especially connecting traffic infrastructure, creating new development space, especially investing in completing Quang Tri Airport and My Thuy Deep-water Port, considering this as the top priority political task.

For projects that have been granted investment decisions or meetings, seeking investment opportunities today is a starting step for large domestic and foreign investment flows into Quang Tri province in the coming time. The Deputy Prime Minister believes that more and more domestic and foreign investors will pay attention to, prioritize and decide to invest in Quang Tri province, contributing to their own enrichment and the common development of Vietnam, the central provinces, especially Quang Tri province.

At the Conference to Announce the Provincial Planning, Quang Tri province presented decisions approving investment policies and approving investors; documents approving investors to study and propose investment policies; investment registration certificates for more than 16 projects with a total capital of tens of thousands of billions of VND. The province also announced a list of projects calling for investment in the area from 2024-2030.
