The protected forest ecosystems remain intact, forest cover is maintained at a stable level of approximately 95%, and there are no hotspots of illegal logging or forest fires.

In the field of scientific research and biodiversity conservation, the National Park has organized numerous wildlife rescue activities, with a rescue success rate of over 93%.

In 2025 alone, the unit will implement two provincial-level scientific projects, while also recording many new species of flora and fauna for science, further affirming the outstanding global value of Phong Nha - Ke Bang.

By linking conservation with sustainable tourism development, the National Park has introduced new ecotourism products, including the legendary Truong Son Road – Command Cave route.

In 2025, tourist routes and destinations here are expected to welcome over 893,000 visitors, generating total revenue exceeding 314 billion VND, demonstrating the growing appeal of the heritage site in the local green tourism development strategy.

In 2026, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park will coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee on completing the procedures for submitting the application to UNESCO for recognition as a World Biosphere Reserve, and simultaneously develop a dossier for the third nomination for World Natural Heritage status based on aesthetic criteria.

Previously, Phong Nha - Ke Bang was recognized twice by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site in 2003 and 2015.

In particular, in July 2025, UNESCO approved a decision to adjust the heritage boundaries, expanding them to include Hin Nam No National Park (Laos), making Phong Nha - Ke Bang a transboundary world natural heritage site, contributing to consolidating its position as the "kingdom of caves" and a leading adventure tourism destination in the region.
