In 2025, the unit will carry out two provincial-level scientific projects and record many new species of plants and animals for science, contributing to affirming the outstanding global value of the Heritage site.
In addition, the Park Management Board continues to promote the application of science and technology and digital transformation in forest resource management, biodiversity monitoring, and heritage conservation, through technologies such as camera traps, SMART software, digitized data, and artificial intelligence.
Regarding the promotion of heritage values in conjunction with tourism development, Phong Nha - Ke Bang has introduced new ecotourism products, including the "Legendary Truong Son Road - Command Cave" route, and has also received approval from the Provincial People's Committee to implement ecotourism projects in many potential areas. By 2025, tourist routes and destinations within the National Park are expected to welcome over 893,000 visitors, generating total revenue exceeding 314 billion VND.
In 2026, the Park Management Board identified its key tasks as finalizing the new phase of the Heritage Management Plan, coordinating with relevant departments and agencies to advise the Provincial People's Committee on procedures for submitting to UNESCO for recognition as a World Biosphere Reserve, and developing a dossier for the third nomination for World Natural Heritage status based on aesthetic criteria.
The preparation of the third nomination dossier is considered a strategic step to further enhance the international standing of Phong Nha - Ke Bang, while creating a solid foundation for long-term conservation, sustainable tourism development, and effectively promoting the outstanding global values of the Heritage site.
