(Dan Tri) - The Vice President noted that Ca Mau should carry out emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, avoiding formalities, with clear goals, suitable to reality, creating valuable products for society.

On November 2, Ca Mau organized the first Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) with the motto "Patriotic emulation - Dedication - Confidence in breakthroughs - Accelerating development".

The Congress demonstrated the determination and aspiration to rise up and successfully achieve the goal of making Ca Mau a growth pole of the Mekong Delta region by 2030, a center of rapid, sustainable, comprehensive development, confidently entering a new era of development with the whole country.

Over the past 5 years, emulation movements have been effectively implemented by Ca Mau province such as: The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas; For the poor, leaving no one behind; Unite, join hands, and compete to prevent, fight and defeat the Covid-19 pandemic; Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; Promote the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure, practice thrift, fight waste; Innovation and digital transformation;...

In the patriotic emulation movements, many typical advanced examples have appeared in various fields.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan commended and congratulated the results and achievements in socio -economic development and patriotic emulation movements of Ca Mau province over the past 5 years.

According to the Vice President, after the merger, Ca Mau will have new space and development potential, converging many conditions to become a green growth pole, a development driving force of the Mekong Delta region.

However, the Vice President also said that Ca Mau still faces many challenges such as: Unsynchronized transport infrastructure and digital infrastructure; limited high-quality human resources and grassroots cadres; people's lives and jobs, especially in remote areas and revolutionary base areas, are still difficult; climate change, saltwater intrusion, landslides, and water security are significant challenges in the development process.

In the coming time, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested that Ca Mau province needs to promote internal strength, make the most of resources from the Central Government and strategic partners; plan and invest for comprehensive and even socio-economic development, not leaving any locality behind.

The province needs to focus on developing dual-use transportation, seaports, and logistics services; prioritize the implementation of projects to respond to climate change and ensure water security; invest in developing high-tech agriculture, ecological aquaculture, and modern processing industry; focus on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, especially Southern amateur music;...

The Vice President suggested that Ca Mau province pay attention to resolving difficulties and problems in the operation of the two-level local government, creating favorable conditions for officials to work with peace of mind; perform well the task of ensuring national defense and security, contributing to firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

To carry out the patriotic emulation movement in the coming time, the Vice President noted that the province should launch and organize emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, avoiding formalities, with clear goals, specific criteria, suitable for practice, creating valuable products for society.

According to the Vice President, it is necessary to turn emulation movements into real resources, create endogenous strength, arouse the desire to contribute, encourage the creative spirit and strong will to rise of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.

In the commendation work, the Vice President noted that Ca Mau needs to focus on commending small groups and individuals directly involved in labor, production and combat; promptly discover, propagate and replicate typical advanced examples, including small, simple but meaningful examples, creating a strong spread in society.

"We attach importance to building a culture of emulation in the political and social system, so that emulation truly becomes a driving force contributing to Ca Mau's rapid and sustainable development in the new era, the era of strong, prosperous and happy development of the country," the Vice President emphasized.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, in the period of 2025-2030, with the theme "Patriotic emulation, breakthrough development, building Ca Mau - the southernmost province of the rich and civilized Fatherland", the province aims to make a breakthrough in developing science, technology, innovation, creativity and digital transformation; promoting traditional cultural and historical values, determined to develop the province rapidly and sustainably, constantly improving and enhancing the lives of the people.

Through emulation movements, Ca Mau has 84 collectives awarded the Government's Emulation Flag, 445 cases received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the President awarded 301 Medals of various types, 2 National Emulation Fighters and many collectives and individuals received provincial-level awards.
