A view of the closing session of the 14th National Congress of the Party on the afternoon of January 23.
Immediately after the closing of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, with the 14th Central Committee unanimously electing Comrade To Lam to continue serving as General Secretary, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, international friends congratulated Vietnam on choosing its leader with a spirit of unity, wisdom, and trust.
The recent Congress not only attracted the attention of the people of Vietnam but also received special interest from international friends. Sharing his thoughts after closely following the events, journalist Phinmeuang Tulayphet from Pasaxon, the official newspaper of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, expressed his admiration for Vietnam's inner strength, reflected in the meticulous and professional organization and the modern journalistic infrastructure at the National Convention Center.
Mr. Isac Patrício Nhabinde, Head of News Editorial Board and in charge of digital communications for the ruling Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO) party, stated that the 14th National Congress is an event eagerly awaited by fraternal parties and international partners with great expectations. He emphasized: “There is a firm belief that the decisions made at this forum will meet the aspirations of the people. All of us present here hope to establish an increasingly solid partnership with Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam. A stronger Vietnam after the Congress will continue to be a key and reliable partner for us.”
For journalist Kango Bhalchandra, Editor-in-Chief of the New Age newspaper of the Communist Party of India, who once took to the streets chanting "Amar Naam, Tumar Naam, Vietnam" (My name is Vietnam, your name is also Vietnam) since his student days, Vietnam has always been an endless source of inspiration. Witnessing the changes in Hanoi today, he shared: "Vietnam is not only an example in historical struggle but also a model of development in the new era under the leadership of the Communist Party."
When the Congress announced that the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam had unanimously elected Comrade To Lam , General Secretary of the 13th Central Committee, to continue serving as General Secretary of the 14th Central Committee, international reporters present at the Congress's Press Center shared their warmest congratulations, affirming that this was proof of the stability and solid continuation of the development path that Vietnam has chosen.
Journalist Wennys De Las Mercedes Diaz Ballag, special correspondent for Granma, the official newspaper of the Cuban Communist Party, emotionally expressed: “We would like to congratulate Comrade To Lam on his re-election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. We trust and wish the newly elected members of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat much success in their new term. We are certain that they will work with the highest sense of responsibility to improve the quality of life for the Vietnamese people, a mission that motivates them to continue striving every day. For Cuba, Vietnam is a model of a prosperous and sustainable socialist society, a typical example that we need to learn from in building our country.”
Cuban journalists expressed confidence that the strategic goals for 2030 and 2045 set forth by the Congress under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam will produce tangible results, consolidating the position of a modern Vietnam on the international stage.
The absolute consensus in electing the Party leader is clear evidence of Vietnam's political stability and internal solidarity. As affirmed by Mr. Isac Patrício Nhabinde, Head of the Editorial and Digital Communications Department of the ruling FRELIMO Party in Mozambique, the efforts of the Communist Party of Vietnam have opened up a broader and more diverse diplomatic front than ever before, creating positive momentum for both economic development and international political standing.
The success of the 14th National Congress and the consolidation of high-level personnel is not only a joy for the Vietnamese people but also strengthens the firm belief of friends around the world in a peaceful, dynamically developing nation, rich in hospitality and always steadfast on the path it has chosen.
